III. DISCUSSION OF INCIDENTS:
The incident of a patrol officer on bicycle patrol was discussed noting that the officer
should have dismounted the bicycle before lifting it over an obstruction.
During an underwater search for a possible drowning victim, a firefighter/paramedic
struck his head on a floating log when surfacing. It was suggested that the use of a
helmet might have prevented the injury, but using a helmet underwater might not be
practical. Representative Krob questioned what precaution this employee took before
entering the water. Assistant Village Manager Crotty indicated that employees wear wet
suits and receive preventative shots for certain diseases.
The incident of a patrol officer's squad damage was discussed noting that the officer was
parked with lights activated and in the squad writing a report. Even though the squad was
fully visible at the intersection, another car making the turn struck the side of the squad
and continued going. When the driver was finally apprehended, he indicated that he did
not see the squad and was unaware he had struck it. The Secretary of State was notified,
and we requested to have the driver re-tested.

removed from the basement in the Bath and Tennis Administration Building; the north
electrical panel in the Bath and Tennis Clubhouse is still blocked by food items; and the
Golf Pro Shop still needs an additional fire extinguisher.
Assistant Village Manager Crotty reminded the Committee members to be sure all
monthly inspection reports have been submitted, as the LEAP evaluation is scheduled for
August 31.

VIII. GENERAL DISCUSSION:
Assistant Village Manager Crotty informed the Committee that a fire drill is scheduled
for early August.
Representative Krob stated his concern regarding a recent dumpster fire at the Bath and
Tennis Club. Employees extinguished the fire with a fire extinguisher, but the Fire
Department was not called to verify that the fire was properly extinguished. He was
concerned that the fire could have rekindled. Assistant Village Manager Crotty will
discuss the proper procedures with the Bath and Tennis Club Manager.
