L CALL MEETING TO ORDER: on June 27, 2000 by Executive
Safety Committee.
The Combined Executive and Employee Safety Committee meeting was called to order at
9:06 a.m. in the Samuel E. Dean Board Room with the following representatives

II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Motion by Police Chief Pisarek, seconded by Library Director Martin, to approve the
minutes of the Executive Safety Committee meeting of September 14, 1999 as submitted.
VOICE VOTE: Motion carried
Motion by Susan Schwartz, seconded by Greg Krob, to approve the minutes of the
Employee Safety Committee meeting of January 27, 2000 as submitted. VOICE VOTE:
Motion carried. Minutes are to be dated and posted in respective departments.
III. STRIVE FOR 25 MEETING-BRIAN MOLENDA-IRMA:
Assistant Village Manager Crotty noted that the Village fell short and did not meet its
L.. goal in IRMA's "Strive for 25" program during 1999, thus an IRMA representative is

sent out to conduct a meeting to discuss the program. From this discussion we will be
setting the Goals and Objectives for 2000 to strive for a 25% reduction in workers
compensation claims.
Brian Molenda, IRMA Risk Control Representative, noted that the Village did not meet
its goal for 1999,but as of the first quarter of 2000, the Village is at a"satisfactory" level.
He discussed each department's worker compensation claims as indicated in the packet of
information he distributed stressing the importance of doing the paperwork and for each
department head to keep a close watch on the types of reported incidents. He noted that
there were no particular types of incidents repeatedly reported for workers compensation,
although driving incidents were frequent in non-workers compensation claims. He noted
that IRMA would be setting up a more detailed driving program.
IRMA Representative Molenda complimented the Village of Oak Brook on its fine Risk
Management Program.
IV. 2000 LOSS PREVENTION GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:
Assistant Village Manager Crotty asked each department head to take a close look at the
losses reported for their department and to think about the goals to be set for 2000.

Motion by Finance Director Langlois, seconded by Police Chief Pisarek, to adjourn the
meeting at 9:45 a.m.
