AN ORDIN ONCE CREATI UG THE OFFICE
OF VILL�`GS COLLECTOR FO H THE VILLAGE
OF OAKBROOK, DU PAGE COUNT, ILLINOIS
BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of
the Village of Oakbrook, DuPage County, Illinois:
Section 1. There is hereby created the office of Village
Collector, an administrative office of the Village of Oakbrook,
DuPage County, Illinois.
Section 2. The office of Village Collector shall be filled
by appointment by the President of the Board of Trustees End confirmed
by a, majority of said Board of 'trustees.
Section 3. The salary for the Village Collector shall be
established by the President and Board of Trustees and until further
acts n by said President and Board of Trustees is hereby established
at ='r w Dollars per year.
Section 4. Before entering upon the duties of the office
the Collector shall take the oath prescribed by statute and shall
furnish a bond in such amount a.s shall be required by the President
and Board of Trustees provided that in the event the Village Collector
shall be the same person who holds the office of Village Clerk, then
in such event the bond of the Village Clerk shall be deemed to cover
both offices.
Section 5. The Village Collector shall execute all special
assessments and other warrants which such Collector is required by law
to execute, and shall perform such other duties as now are or may be
hereafter imposed by law or the ordinances of the Village. The
Collector shall at the first regular meeting of the Board of Trustees
in the month of June of each year, or oftener, if requested by the
President and Board of 'Trustees, submit a report to the President and
Board of Trustees of all monies collected, and shall weekly pay over
to the Village Treasurer all monies collected from any source whatever,
taking such Treasurer' s receipt therefor in duplicate.

Section 6. The Collector shall keep such books and accounts
as the President and Board of Trustees from time to time direct, which
shall show the receipt and disposition of all monies received and all
other matters pertaining to the office. Such books shall be held at
the office of the Village Collector and shall be open to the inspection
of the President and the Board of Trustees.
Section 7. In addition to the report to the President and
Board of Trustees herein required to be made by the Collector, the
said Collector shall file with the Village Clerk a statement of all
monies collected during the year, the particular warrants, special
assessments or accounts on which collected, and the balance of monies
uncollected on all warrants in said Collector' s hands.
Section 8. The term of office of the Village Collector
shall be for one year commencing with the first day of July of each
and every year, and unless sooner terminated by action of the President
and Board of Trustees, any appointment to the office of Village
Collector shall be for a period of one year but in any case such
appointment shall not extend beyond the first day of the next succeed-
ing month of July following such appointment, provided , however, that
any Village Collector appointed hereunder shall serve until his
successor is duly appointed and qualified.
