AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A VARIATION REp-CirDAcH GRCL.L
TO THE RULES AND REGULATIONS SfCsly _
OF THE OAKBROOK ZONING ORDINANCE 010
Whereas, the owner of the property more particularly herein-
after described has petitioned the corporate authorities of the
Village of Oakbrook for a variation to the rules and regulations
of the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Oakbrook with respect
to the amount of gross surface area of ,signs on property in an
ORA-1 zoned area; and
Whereas, the applicant presently has 156 square feet of sign
and requests an additional 138 square feet at the location desired,
an increase of 54 feet over that permitted by ordinance; and
Whereas, a public hearing pursuant to said request has been
held by the Zoning Board of Appeals of the Village of Oakbrook;
and
Whereas, the said Zoning Board of Appeals has recommended
that the variation be granted; and
Whereas, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village
of Oakbrook concur with said recommendation and are of the opinion
that a variation should be granted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Oakbrook, DuPage County, Illinois, as
follows:
Section 1. That the applicable rules and regulations of
Section X, B, 6, (e) of "The Zoning Ordinance of the Village of
Oakbrook, Illinois, of 1966" , being Ordinance G-60, as amended,
are hereby varied to permit the construction, maintenance and oper-
ation by applicant of an additional sign containing 138 square feet
and . reading "The Red Coach" , on property described as:
Lot 6 in Oak Brook Investment Company Assessment Plat No. 4
of part of the Northwest Quarter (1/4) of Section 26,
Township 39 North, Range 11, East of the Third Principal
Meridian according to the plat thereof recorded July 8, 1964,
as Document No. R64-24072 in DuPage County, Illinois;
the general location of the property being at Oakbrook Executive
Plaza, Arcade I, 1225 West 22nd Street in the Village of Oakbrook,
Illinois .
Section 2. The granting of the variation herein is restricted
and conditioned pursuant to the provisions of Section XIII, G, 4, (c) ,
to require that applicant locate the proposed sign on the facade of
the arcade for the northern exposure and on the southerly facade of
the canopy for the southern exposure.
Section 3 . That this Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval as by statute in
such cases made and provided.
PASSED and APPROVED by the President and Board of Trustees of
the Village of Oakbrook, Illinois , this al day of January, 1970 .
