CAK3RCOK, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, DU PAGE

WEREAS, it appears to the President and Board of Trustees of
the Village of Oakbrook, a municipal corporation, that heretofore, to-
wit: on the 10th day of October, A. D. 1958, there was filed in the
County Court of Du Page County, Illinois, a verified petition. request-
{ r ing that the hereinafter described territory be annexed to the Villa ge
of Oakbrook, Illinois; and
' iEREAS, it appears that the_ Village of Oakbrook has attempted

to annex a portion of said territory by previous annexation ordinances,
the validity of which said ordinances has been challenged and is in
G doubt; and

WE.REAS, it appears that the said petition was signed by a
majority of the owners of record of land in the within described terri-
tory by the owners of record of more than fifty per cent (50') of the
land in said territory, and by a majority of the electors residing in
said territory; and
j' YV"P it appears that the said territory is not within the
\ corporate limits of any other municipalitv and is contiguous to the
Village of Oakbrook, Illinois, and that the said petition requested that
the said territcry be annexed to the Village of Oakbrook, and in all re-
suects conformed to the :r ovisions and requirements of Article 7, Chapter
24 of the Illinois Revised Statutes, 1957 Ed tio-:, and was valid; and
INFEREAS, it further appears that after the filing of the said
petition as aforesaid, and pursuant to the order of t';e County.- Judge of
Du Page County, due notice having been ,J—ven as b�; statute required, a
hearing was had thereon and such ether nrozeedin�,s were had as is pro-

aa:d ordering that the question of annexation of the said territory, as
hereinafter described, to the Village of Oakbrook be subsitted to the
corporate authorities of the Village of Oakbrook for final action thereon;
and
WHERF,AS, it further appears that a certified copy of- said
order was sent to the Village Clerk of the Village of Oakbrook, Illinois,
and is presently on file with said Village Clerk;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of
jrustees of the Village of Oakbrook, Du 'Page County, Illinois:
Section 1. That the territory described as follows, to-wit:
The north half (N.l) of the southwest quarter (S.'N.i) of Section
twenty-six (26) and all of the northwest quarter (N.W.1) of
Section twenty-six (26)• also the north half (r;.2) of the
southeast quarter (S.t.i) of Section twenty-seven (27), and
all of the northeast quarter (N.E.J) of Section twenty-seven
(27); also the southwest quarter (S.W.J) of Section twenty-three
(23), and that part of the northwest quarter (N.W.-) of Section
twenty-three (23), Township thirty-nine (39) North, Range eleven
(11), East of the Third Principal Meridian, described as bec;irrin
at the southwest corner of said northwest quarter (N.W.4) of Section
twenty-three (23); thence easterly along the south line of said
quarter ('.) section, forty (40) chains (two thousand six hundred
forty feet) to the center of said Section twenty-three (23);
thence northerly along the east line of said northwest quarter
of Section twenty-three (23), two and seventy-five
' hundredths (2.75) chains (one hundred eighty-one and five tenths
feet); thence South eighty-four degrees thirty seconds West (said
line also being the centerline of 16th Street, as now platted
and recorded) to the southeasterly corner of Town. P,evelopnent
Company's El*nhurst Co�trysiae Unit o. 2, situated in the
northwest quarter (r.W.l) of Section twenty-three (23), Town-
ship thirty-nine (39) !North, Range eleven (11) Fast of the
Third Principal. Meridian; thence northerly along the easterly
line of said Town Development Co=any' s Elmhurst Countryside
Unit No. 2, to the northeast co=er o said subdivision; thence
westerly along the northerly lire of said Town Developne.rt

of this ordinance be filed in the Cffice of the County Clerk of Du Page
County, Illinois.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval�in accordance with the
law; and that all ordinances or parts of ordinances conflicting with
the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
