S-16 - 07/14/1959 - ANNEXATION - Ordinances A-rAC ff - 7- 1�-�� M A) . 4 AN ORDINAL CE PROVIDIT;,^^, FOR THE A11NEX,ATION OT,. 1;ERTAIN 1'& RIi'ORY TO THE VILIAUE OF OAKBROOK, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, DU PAGE COUNTY, ILLINOIS WHEREAS, it appears to the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oakbrook, a municipal corporation, that heretofore, to- wit: on the 4th day of June, A. D. 1959, there 'was filed in the County Court of Du Page County, Illinois, a verified petition requesting that the hereinafter described territory be annexed to the Village of Oakbrook, Illinois; and WHEREAS, it appears that the said petition was signed by a majority of the owners of record of land in the within described territory, by the owners of record of more than fifty per cent (50%) of the land in said territory, and by a majority of the electors residing in said terri- tory; and WHEREAS, it appears that the said territory is not within the corporate limits of any other municipality and is contiguous to the Village of Oakbrook, Illinois, and that the said petition requested that the said territory be annexed to the Village of Oakbrook, and in all re- spects conformed to the provisions and requirements of article 7, Chapter 24 of the Illinois Revised Statutes, 1957 Edition, and was valid; and WHEREAS, it further appears that after the filing, of the said petition as aforesaid, and pursuant to the order of the County Judge of Du Page County, due notice having been ;-iven as by statute required, a hearing was had thereon and such other :-roceedin ,s were ha:-i as is pro- vided by lavr, and that on the 29th day of June, 1959, an order was entered of record in the County Court of Du Pare 1*:ounty, 1111.nois, fixing the location anv,! t,oundaries of saic territory as �:escribed in said petition and ordering that the question of annexation o ' said territor,, as here- inafter described, to the Villa e of 'r;e su 6micted to the corporate authorities of the Villa:-Ye of Oakbrook for final action thereon; and WH S, it further appears that a certified copy of said order was sent to the Village Clerk of the Village of Oakbrook, Illinois, and is presently on file with said Village Clerk; NOW, TH-F,1?EFORE, BE IT ORDAI;TM by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oakbrook, Du Pave County, Illinois: That part of Section 28, Township 39 North, Range 11, East of the Third Principal Meridian, described as follows: Cornnencing at the center of Section 28 for a place of beginning, thence easterly along the north line of the southeast quarter of said Section 28 to the east line of Lots 1 and 6 of Oakbrook Hills Plat of Survey situated in the southeast quarter of Section 28, Township 39 North, Range 11, East of the Third Principal Lieridi_an; thence southerly along the east line of Lots 1 and 6 to the southeast corner of said Lot 6, thence westerly along the south line of Lot 6 to the vest line of Lot 6; thence northerly along said west line of Lot 6 to the southeast corner of Lot 2 in said Oakbrook Hills Plat of Survey; thence westerly along the south line of said Lot 2 to the west line of saki Oakbrook Hills Plat of Survey; thence southerly along said west line of Oakbrook Hills Pl�'t of Survey to the southwest corner of Oakbrook dills Plat of Survey, said corner also being the southeast corner of said southwest quart,,r o.f Section 26; thence westerly along the south line of the southwest quarter of 'section 28, said line also beinf- tl,e oenter iine of 31°.t Are(-A as now platted and recorded to a point on the center line of t,teyers Road as now platted and recorded; thence northerly along`the center line of ?-eyers Road as now platted and recorded to its inter- section with the center li.r:e of Old Chiccit.;o Road (now known as Butterfield Road) before '.,r denin ,; thence northeasterly along the center line of sai0 Old Ch c`i;c Roar' before widening to its intersection with the east 1-i ne ;f the northwest quarter of Section 28, Towns;:ip 39 !',orth, !t_r..re 11) ha: t ci' the Third Principal l:`eridian; Lhence southerly aionC,, said east line to the place of begi nnir:? all in Du Page County, I11 i.nois, be and the same is hereby annexed to and made a :;art of the said Village of Oakbrook, a municipal corporation.
