WHEREAS, the Busse Woods Reservoir was constructed in 1978 and provides
flood control and recreational benefits in the Salt Creek Basin; and
WHEREAS, the flood plain areas downstream of the Reservoir suffer
overbank flood damages annually; and

WHEREAS, the Illinois Department of Transportation, Division of Water
Resources has investigated the potential benefits of modifying the outlet
conditions at the dam; and
WHEREAS, the Division of ester Resources' studies recommend modifying the
Busse Woods Dam to achieve additional downstream flood control benefits; and
WHEREAS, the Division of Water Resources' studies have indicated that the
forested areas surrounding the Reservoir will suffer no adverse impacts due to
the proposed modification; and
WHEREAS, the proposed modification project is consistent with the
objectives and policies of the DuPage County Stormwater .Management Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Stormwater Management Committee of the DuPage County Board
and the DuPage County Board support such modification to the Busse Woods
Reservoir Dam.
Now, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Village President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook declare their support for the proposed
Busse Woods Reservoir Dam Modification and stress the need for additional
flood control benefits, which benefits shall be provided by such modif_'Lcation;
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Village President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Oak Brook hereby encourage the Division of Water Resources
and the Cook County Forest Preserve District to aggressively pursue the
proposed modification to the Busse Woods Reservoir Dam; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Village Clerk transmit copies of this
Resolution to:

Variation Permit.

B. Recommendation - Wendland - S ecial Use Re: Clinic d724 Enterprise
Drive
Appli.,;ation has been made for a Special Use Permit to allow a clinic
occupying the first and second floors of an existing two-story brick
building on Enterprise Drive.
The Plan Commission, at its meeting of July 16, 1990, recommended
approval of the requested Special Use Permit to allo'a a clinic at the
subject location.
The Zoning Board of Appeals, at its meeting of August 7, 1990,
recommended approval of the requested Special Use Permit subject to the
conditions as stated in letter of August 20, 1990 from Chairman Savino.

To table the requested Special Use Permit and direct the Village

Attorney to prepare the necessary documentation for review at the next
Regular Meeting of September 25, 1990.

C. Reno-rt of Activities:
1. Finance g Libre ars: Trustee Bartecki - June Sales Tax was
107,000.00 over last year's amount-
2. Public Safety: Trustee Bushy - Loyola Life Star Unit commended the
Oak Brook paramedics for saving the life of a woman on the
Interstate. Ribbon cutting ceremony held Monday, September 10th
for the Police Department Firing Range.
3. Public Works & Personnel: Trustee Rush - Water tank will be
Tainted next month. The Reservoir is functional, but the exterior
is not completed.
4. Spore ttss Core: Trustee Maher - The restoration of the previously
flooded nine holes of the Municipal Golf Course, is underway.
Seeding is substantially completed. The October 8th Committee-of-
the-Whole meeting has been cancelled and changed to a special COW
meeting on October 22nd. The Sports Core recommendations for next
year's fees, long-range planning and mission will be discussed at
this meeting.
5. Stormwate_r Management: Trustee Payovich - DuPage County Board
approved the construction of the Busse Woods Reservoir Dam.
