Ali ORDINANCE AMENDINC33 THE "PUBLIC WORKS
CONSTRUCTION REGULATION ORDINANCE" OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, ILLINOIS.
BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of
the Village of Oak Brook, as follows:
Section 1. That part of ARTICLE VIII, Section 2, C, 3 of
the "Public Works Construction Regulation Ordinance" of the
Village of Oak Brook which provides:
"Fire Protection Lines: $2, 500 plus an additional $250. 00
for each hose cabinet over 4 and an additional $250. 00 for
every 25 sprinkler heads over 50. This is in addition to
the actual cost of construction of the connection lines
and cost of a water meter of design approved by the Village. "
is hereby repealed.
Section 2. The "Public Works Construction Regulation
Ordinance" is hereby amended to provide. in ARTICLEVIII, Section 2,
C, 3, the addition of the following changes:
Fire Protection Water Supply Rate Chalge.
An annual fire protection water supply rate charge is
hereby imposed, said rate to be prorated and payable based
on the billing period established for the user, on the
following formula.
(a) Base Building Charge $ . 007
(b) Extra Hazard $ . 001
(c) Ordinary Construction $ 001
(d) Frame Construction $ .004
(e) Total of items (a) , (b) , (c) and (d) as are
applicable to the users building based on the
definitions contained herein.
(f) The square foot area of the applicable user' s building
times the rate established in item (e) . There then
shall be allowed credits to the amount determined on
the following basis:
(g) The square foot area sprinkled times the rate of$ . 035.
(h) The. non-sprinklered square foot area that has an
approved detector system times the rate of$ . 0015.
The annual rate shall be the amount determined in item (f)
less the amounts, if any, in items (g) and (h) .
Extra Hazard as used herein is as defined in the National
Fire Protection Association Manual X13 Standard for the
Installation of Sprinkler Systems.
Ordinary Construction as used herein is as defined as
Type III, B and III, C construction in the Chicago Building
Code of 1973.
Frame Construction as used herein is as defined as Type IV,
A and IV, B in the Chicago Building Code of 1973 .
Square foot area of the building shall be as determined
by the actual measurement from exterior wall to exterior
r wall, per floor, including basements and penthouses.
Approved detector system as used herein is defined as
an automatic fire alarm detectoring system that is
recognized as reliable and adequate based upon standards
as may be establised by the Chief of the Oak Brook Fire
Department.
Section 3 . This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval as by statute in such case
made and provided.
PASSED andAPPROVED by the President and Board of Trustees of
the Village of Oak Brook this 14th day of January '
