AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE S-277 BEING THE
PUBLIC WORKS CONSTRUCTION REGULATIONS
FOR THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK
WHEREAS, the Corporate Authorities deem it in the best interests
of the Village to require a single fire and domestic water connection to a
village main when said connection requires the crossing of a public street.,
and..
WHEREAS, the Corporate Authorities deem it in the best interest
of the Village to charge for the actual cost of a water meter to cover in-
stallation and other related material costs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Oak Brook, DuPage and Cook Counties, Illinois, that
SECTION 1. The provisions of the preamble here and before set forth are hereby
restate herein as though herein fully set forth.
SECTION 2. Ordinance S-277, Article VI, Section 3, Subsection A., Paragraph 11
is hereby amended to read as follows:
FIRE PROTECTION LINES. Separate services shall be required
for Domestic and Fire Lines when the connections do not
require crossing a road or street. When a road or street
crossing is necessary, a single connection may be made of
adequate size to deliver both _Domestic and Fire flows.
This connection shall be extended across the road or street
from the appropriate main to the property line where it
shall split and from that point separate service lines
shall be provided into the building. A Gate Valve shall
be provided on each service at or near the property line.
Valve boxes will be permitted on these Valves provided
they do not fall within a driveway or paved area in which
case Valve Vaults will be required. A metered check valve
shall be installed on all Fire Lines at the owners expense
and be located in close proximity of the Domestic water meter. .
SECTION 3. The Introductory Paragraph of Article VIII, Section 2. C. 3. (b)
of Ordinance S-277 is hereby amended as follows:
(b). Water supplied by Oak Brook - This fee includes
— a connection fee and a fee for inspection of all
lines. The meter charge includes the cost of the
meter and installation to connections installed by
the owner. There shall be a fee for a water meter
based on the actual costs for time and materials
incurred by the Village of Oak Brook. It does not
include the actual cost of the installation of the
dines or fittings.
SECTION 4. The meter charges set forth under the headings: RESIDE,'`FII L
and COMNMRCIAL, of Article VIII, Section 2. C. 3. (b)are hereby deletes .
SECTION S. All ordinances, rules, and regulations of the Village of
Oak Brook which are in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance
are hereby repealed solely to the extent of the conflict.
SECTION b. If any section, sub-section, sentence, clause, or phrase
of this Ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid, such determination
shall not affect the validity of any remaining portion of this Ordinance.
SECTION 7. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after er is passage, approval, and publication in pamphlet form as required
by law.
