AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A VARIATION TO SECTIONS VIII, F 7), AND XIV,
(B) (133) OF ORDINANCE NO. G-60, AS AMENDED, THE ZONING ORDINNANCE
OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, ILLINOIS, TO PROPERTY COMMONLY
KNOWN AS THE DRAKE OAK BROOK HOTEL, OAK BROOK, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, the owner of the subject property described in Exhibit "A"
attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, has petitioned the Village of
Oak Brook, Du Page and Cook Counties, Illinois, for a variation to the regulations
of Sections VIII (F) (7) and XIV (B) (133) of Ordinance No. G-60, as amended, as
applied to the subject property; and
WHEREAS, .a public hearing pursuant to said request has been held by
the Zoning Board of Appeals of the Village of Oak Brook; and
WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals has recommended that the
variation be granted; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees deem the passage of
this Ordinance to be in the best interests and in furtherance of the general welfare
of the Village of Oak Brook.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook, Du Page and Cook Counties, Illinois, as
follows:
SECTION 1: The provisions of the preamble hereinabove set forth are hereby
restated herein as though herein fully set forth.
SECTION 2: The applicable rules and regulations of Section VIII (F) (7) and Section
XIV B 133) of the "Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Oak Brook, Illinois, of
1966" as amended, are hereby varied as the same apply to the property described in
Exhibit "A" attached hereto, to permit a 100-room hotel addition of six stories to
extend not more than five (5) feet in height above the existing hotel building, so as
to allow said addition to conform with the existing hotel building, said addition to
be located substantially as shown on Applicant's Site Plan dated March 10, 1970,
and incorporated in Ordinance No. S-199 adopted by the Village of Oak Brook on
March 24, 1970, as Exhibit "A", and further subject to the following conditions:
(a) The addition to be constructed shall be set back a minimum of 50
feet from any access roadway, driveway, or street; and
(b) A building permit shall be obtained within one year of the date of
adoption of this Ordinance, the specifications for which shall
substantially conform to the following;
(1) The Site Plan incorporated in Ordinance S-199 as Exhibit "A"
thereto, referred to above.
(2) That certain Site Plan referred to as 115-Story Scheme
(Scheme B)" prepared by Loebl, Schlossman, Dart & Hackl
dated October 20, 1975, excluding therefrom all reference
to the five-story office building therein depicted, which
site plan by this reference is hereby incorporated herein.
(3) That certain drawing described as "Elevations and Sections
(Sheet A-10), New Guest Wing, Job No. 027029611, prepared
by Loebl, Schlossman, Bennett & Dart under date October
19, 1977, excluding therefrom all reference to the five-story
office building therein depicted, which drawing by this
reference is hereby incorporated herein.
(4) All other applicable rules, regulations, and ordinances of the
Village of Oak Brook.
SECTION 3: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and approval as by Statute in such case made and provided. This Ordinance
shall be published in pamphlet form.
SECTION 4: All ordinances, rules, and regulations of the Village of Oak Brook
which are in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance, are hereby repealed to
the extent of the conflict and only as they apply to the property hereinbefore
described.

corner of the Northeast quarter of said Section 25, also being the intersection of
center lines of York Road and Twenty-Second Street (Cermak Road); thence South
0 degrees 00 minutes 00 seconds East along the West line of the Northeast quarter
of said Section 25, also being the center line of York Road, a distance of 1448.64
feet; thence South 00 degrees 00 minutes 00 seconds Last a distance of 198.43 feet;

Northeast quarter of Section 25, a distance of 75.0 feet to a point for the place of
