AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING POLICIES AND ESTABLISHING
RULES AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING THE USE AND OPERATION
OF THE FACILITIES KNOWN AS THE SPORTS CORE
WHEREAS, the Village of Oak Brook has heretofore
acquired 269 acres of property and improvements previously known
as the Butler International Sports Core , and now known as the Oak
Brook Sports Core; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of .Trustees of the
Village of Oak Brook have previously established rules and regula
tions governing the operation of the Sports Core facilities through
the adoption of Ordinance S-394 , passed and approved January 24 ,
1978; and
WHEREAS, the said President and Board of Trustees deem
the amendment of those rules and regulations established pursuant
to Ordinance S-394 .to be in the best interests and in furtherance
of the general welfare of the citizens of the Village of Oak Brook'
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND
BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK
COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, as ,follows :
Section 1 : That the provisions of the preamble here-
inbefore set forth are hereby adopted as though herein fully set
forth .
Section 2 : That there are hereby established rules
and regulations governing the operation of the facilities known as
the Oak Brook Sports Core and the use of the same , the said rules
and regulations being those set forth in the attachment hereto ,
which is labelled Exhibit "A" , and made a part hereof.
Section 3: That Ordinance S-394 and all ordinances or
parts thereof in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance be
and the same are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict .
Section 4: That the provisions of this Ordinance are
deemed severable .and the validity or invalidity of any part thereof
shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions thereof.
Section 5 : That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized
and directed to publish this Ordinance in pamphlet form in the manner
provided by law.
Section 6 : That this Ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in
pamphlet form, all as required by law.

OAK BROOK SPORTS CORE
OPERATING POLICIES
SPORTS CORE OPEN FIELDS
A. Open Field Utilization
Requests to utilize the Open Field or Show Field areas. for recreational snorting
events shall be reviewed and scheduled by the Sports Core Manager.
Use of the Sports Core for recreational sporting events which involve spectator
admission fees shall be limited to nonprofit amateur organizations.
Any nonsport Open Field or Show Field use shall be scheduled only after is-
suance of a permit by the Village.
Requests to use the Open Field or Show Field areas shall be made at least 30 days
in advance of an event.
Fees: For Open Fields there shall be a daily user fee of $20 per field (approxi-
mately 12 acres) for up to four hours of use plus an additional $20 per field
for use over four hours. Rental of the Show Field for horse shows shall be
$1,000 plus $500 for each day. The Show Field rental for nonhorse show events
shall be $250 per day. When an event involves spectator admission fees, there
shall be an additional fee equal to ten percent of gross gate receipts. All above
fees shall not be applicable when Open Field events or activities are arranged
through separate written contract approved by the Village Board.
Fees for the use of the Open Fields or Show Field include only the availability
of the basic facility as it normally exists. Additional facilities or services
may be required for a particular event; the cost of such facilities or services
shall be the obligation of the user.
There shall be no camping or picnicing on the Sports Core. No events shall be
authorized or scheduled which require the installation of permanent facilities
or the alteration or obstruction of Open Field areas. Open Field events shall
be scheduled and held only during daylight hours.
Cross-country skiing shall be permitted on any area of the Sports Core except
on the golf course greens.
Snowmobiles, motorbikes, motorcycles, and other off-the-road vehicles shall not
be operated on the Sports Core. Motorcycles may be operated only on paved roadways.
B. Heliport
The landing facility previously operated for fixed-wing aircraft shall be dis-
continued. The south Open Field area (Field #3 and its perii.-eter) shall be
operated as a Restricted Landing Area for helicopters. No refueling facilities . .
shall be provided. Tie-down. locations will be available to Oak Brook Res cents
or Oak Brook Businesses, upon application, for $40 per month on a first-come,
first-serve basis. '

Anyone desiring to land at the facility shall first receive the permission of
the Sports Core Manager, following application and proof of appropriate insurance.
All nonheliport based helicopters shall pay:
Landing Fee $ 5.00
Overnight Tie-down $10.00
Weekend Tie-down $15.00
C. Bridle Paths
Sports Core Bridle Paths shall be open to the general public. All operators
of commercial stables shall pay a $500 annual fee for utilization of the Sports
Core Bridle Path system.
D. Rental Insurance
Any person renting Sports Core facilities shall be required to provide proof of
insurance for the proposed event, indicating coverage of any risk not adequately
covered by the current Sports Core insurance coverage. The Sports Core Manager
shall have the right to require any such additional insurance for noncovered
risks in amounts consistent with the character and extent of the rental purpose.
II OAK.BROOK GOLF CLUB
A. Golf Course
The Oak Brook Golf Club shall be.closed for the 1979 season since it is under.
construction for expansion to an 18-hole course.
B. Driving Range
The Oak Brook Golf Club Driving Range shall be open for the 1979 season from,
April 1, 1979, to November 1, 1979: daily from 9 AM to 13 hrs. before dusk. '
Buckets of Driving Range balls shall be available for $2 per bucket (60 balls) .
C. Golf Lessons
Lessons will be available for a fee through the Oak Brook Golf Club Pro. Golf -
Lesson fees shall be posted at the Oak Brook Golf Club Driving Range. . Charges
for Golf Lessons shall be paid to the Oak Brook Sports Core.
III OAK BROOK BATH & TENNIS CLUB
A. The. Bath & Tennis Club consists of:
1. A Clubhouse, including:
kitchen facilities
dining room facilities
locker and shower facilities
bar' fac_Iities
2. Outdoor swimming pools, including:
a wading pool
an Olympic-size swimming pool
a diving pool
3. A lake with canoes
4. A barbecue snack pavilion with picnic tables
5. Six outdoor tennis courts

C. Season Membership Definitions
Persons paying the Family, Individual, or Social fee shall be known as Season Members.
1. Family Season Member - will- include husband and/or wife and all persons
permanently residing in he household of the principal member or members.
Membership will entitle the participant to utilize all the facilities at
no additional charge: except for food, beverage, and special charges for
private services throughout the season.
2. Individual -Season Member - will be an individual at least 21 years or age.
Membership will entitle the participant to utilize all'the facilities at-no
additional charge: except for food, beverage, and special charges for
private services throughout the season.
3. Social Season Member
Membership will entitle participants to utilize the Clubhouse dining facilities
throughout the season and to invite unlimited dining guests.
a. Business Social Member - shall be issued in the name of anindividual and
in the name of his/her business. Such membership shall include the person
in whose name the card is issued and any employee of the business in which
name the card is issued who possesses the membership card with the authority
of the person in whose name it is issued.
b. Personal Social Member - will include individuals and all persons
permanently residing in the household of the principal member.
4. Bath & Tennis Guests - will be individuals registered by a Family .or Individual
Season Member to utilize the tennis courts and swimming pools and shall be
limited to ten visits per season. Guests may not charge vouchers and must
be accompanied by the member at all times.
5. Dining Guest - will be an individual accompanied by a Season Member who will
be permitted to utilize the Clubhouse dining facilities. There shall be no
limit on the number of visits; but a guest may not charge vouchers and must
be accompanied by a member at all times.

D. Mcmbership Identification and Charging "1
1. S,--� son Members will be issued plastic cards indicating the type of membership
and the holder's name. Such cards will be used for identification and for
charging at the Bath & Tennis Club.
2. All accounts will be payable upon receipt of statements. Any balance not
paid within 30 days shall be charged an interest fee of 1.5% (18% annual
rate) . Charging privileges on any accounts with unpaid balances over 60
days will be canceled.
3. Payment for season goods and services at the Bath & Tennis Club, with the
exception of the barbecue, shall be by way of charging, utilizing Season
Membership cards.
Food and beverage at the barbecue house shall be paid for by utilizing
prepaid coupons, or adults may charge utilizing Season Membership cards.
Prepaid coupons, in $10 books, can be charged at the Clubhouse by utilizing
a Season Membership card.
4. All charges for. lessons shall be charged through the Bath & Tennis Club.
Fee schedules for lessons shall be posted at the Clubhouse.
S. Seasonal locker rentals shall be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Not
more than 60% of the lockers shall be rented.
E. Operations - Clubhouse
1. The Clubhouse will be open to members beginning Saturday, May 26, 1979, and
continuing through Monday, September 3, 1979.
Operating hours will be:
Clubhouse - Tues. , Wed. , Thurs. , & Sat. - IQ 00 AM to 5:00 PM
Fri. & Sun. - 1Q 00 AM to.- 8:00 PM
Mon. - CLOSED (except Holidays)
Luncheon Service - Tues. through Sun. -11:30 AM to 2:30 PM
Dinner Service - Fri. & Sun. - 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Cocktail Lounge - Tues. , Wed. , Thurs. , & Sat. -11:30 AM to 5:00 PM
Bar service to courts, pool, and barbecue until 8:00 PM
Fri. -11.:30`AM -to .8:00 PM
Sun. -12:00 N to 8:00 PM
Barbecue House - Daily -11:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Locker Rooms - Daily - 8:00 AM to dusk
Bar and Luncheon service will be available on Holidays.
2. A 15% service charge for tips and gratuities will be added to all luncheon,
dinner, and bar charges.
3. Prices on items for resale, including food, beverages, tennis accessories,.
and similar items shall be as approved by the Village Manager or his authorized
agent.
4. Prices for food services shall be in accordance with the contract between the
Village and the food service contractor.

F. Operations - Swimming Pools
1. The pools may be utilized by Family or Individual Season Members.
2_ The pools will be open beginning on Saturday, May 26th, and closing the
day after Labor Day.
Pool hours will be:
Mon. - Fri. (thru 7/27) 10* AM - 1 PM Lessons & Swim Team*
1 PM - $ PM Open Swim
Mon. - Fri. (from 7/30) 10 AM 8 PM Open Swim
Sat. & Sun. 10 AM - 8 PM Open Swim
*One lane will be open for adult swim during lesson
and swim team periods.
3. Group and individual swimming and diving lessons will be available through
Club instructors.
4. Swim Team fee schedule:

G. Operations - Tennis Courts
1. The tennis courts may be utilized by Family or Individual Season Members.
2. The tennis courts will be supervised by Club staff from May 26th_thro-agh Septem-
ber 3rd. The nets will be up and the courts open on a first-come, first-serve
basis from May 12th to May 26th and from September 4th to October 15th. The
courts will be open seven days a week from 7 AM until dusk.
3. Tennis lessons will be available through a Club instructor.
H. Clubhouse Rental
1. The Clubhouse will be available to Season Members and Nonmembers for private
parties or events any day prior to Friday, May 25, 1979, or after Monday,

and Saturday evenings after 5 PM-

3. The Clubhouse will only be available for events with catered food or bar
service at, or above, the following minimums:
Saturday Evenings - September through May 65 persons
June through August 100 persons
Friday and Sunday Evenings 50 persons
Monday thr_u Thursday Evenings & Daytime 40 persons
To be eligible for the room rental rates for food or beverage minimums,
events shall also involve at least $200 of catered food revenue or
$400 of bar service.
4. Events for Friday, Saturday, or Sunday evenings without catered food or bar
service minimums will not be confirmed until one month prior to the date,
except events for regularly organized Oak Brook Community groups on Sunday
evenings.
5. Notwithstanding the above fee schedule and minimums, regularly organized
Oak Brook Community groups may rent the facility for day or evening use on
any Sunday through Thursday during the off-season for $35. _
6. Arrangements for rentals and private events shall be made through the
Club Director.. All catered food services shall be provided by the food
service company which is under contract with the Village.
