ORDINANCE NO. S- 553
AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A VARIATION FROM THE PROVISIONS OF
SECTION RI(E)(7)(ii')_OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK.
ORDINANCE G-60, AS AMENDED RELATIVE TO PERMITTED PARKING
IN FRONT OF THE BUILDING

WHEREAS, an application has been filed requesting a variation from the
provisions of Section XI(E)(7)(ii) of the Oak Brook Zoning Ordinance, Ordinance
G-60, as amended, hich section pertains to the number of parking spaces
permitted in frontlof the building; and
WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals, on January 15, 1955, recommended
denial of the applicant's request to construct 38 additional parking spaces in
front of the building in addition to the six permitted spaces resulting in a
total of 44 parking spaces in front of the building; and
WHEREAS, the applicant amended its application by reducing the number of
additional parking spaces in front of the building from 38 to 9 and by
withdrawing its request for a variation to permit off-street parking closer to
the street line than permitted by ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the evidence presented indicates that the building on the subject
property has been readapted to its present office use and further that the
subject property is an irregularly shaped triangular parcel which is generally
bounded by public rights-of-ways on all three sides; and
WHEREAS, the corporate authorities find that the amended variation requested
meets the applicable standards of Section XIII(G)(4) of the Oak Brook Zoning_
Ordinance and that the unique configuration of the subject property poses a
genuine hardship to development of the property in strict compliance with the Oak
Brook Zoning Ordinance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as f6lldws:
Section 1: That the provisions of the preamble hereinabove set forth are
hereby adopted as if fully set forth herein.
Section 2: That a variati.on is hereby granted from the provisions of
Section XI F 7) (ii) of the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Oak Brook so as to
allow the construction of nine (9) additional parking spaces in front of the
building at 2025 Windsor Drive, Oak Brook, Illinois, thereby making a total of
fifteen (15) parking spaces in front of said building, provided that the nine (9)
new spaces are constructed with a stall depth of 18 feet and an aisle of 27 feet
and otherwise constructed in substantial conformity with the Site Plan drawn by
Legat Architects dated February 6, 1985, which is attached hereto as Exhibit A
and incorporated by reference, including the installation Of earth berms and
plantings.
Section 3: That this Ordinance is limited and restricted to the property
located at 2025 Windsor Drive, Oak Brook, Illinois, which property is legally
described as:
Lot 1 in Packard Instrument Company, Inc. , Assessment Plat,
being a Subdivision in the Southeast Quarter of Section 24,
Township 39 North, Range 11 East of the Third Principal
Meridian, according to the Plat thereof recorded February 14,
1962 as Document R62-4169 in DuPage County, Illinois.

Section 4: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and approval as provided by law.
