AN ORDINANCE REZONING CERTAIN PARCELS TO THE
R-1 SINGLE FAMILY DETACHED RESIDENCE DISTRICT
BUTLER NATIONAL GOLF CLUB
(2616 York Road)
WHEREAS, the property at 2616 York Road has been used as a golf course
prior to the incorporation of the Village of Oak Brook; and
WHEREAS, the original Village of Oak Brook zoning map designated the
entire property as R-1; and
WHEREAS, in 1966, the Zoning Ordinance underwent major revision,
including the rezoning of property along I-88 generally north of what is now
Jorie Boulevard to ORA-1, the property generally south of what is now
Kensington to R-4, and the property north of what is now Kensington to ORA-1;
and
WHEREAS, when Jorie Boulevard was established in the late 1960's, it left
small portions of the golf course property zoned R-4 and ORA-1; and
WHEREAS, on May 6, 1996, an application was filed by Butler National Golf
Club requesting that portions of the property in the northwest corner of the
site in the Village of Oak Brook, Illinois, presently zoned ORA-1 and R-4 be
rezoned to R-1, Single Family Detached Residence District so that the entire
property is zoned R-1; and
WHEREAS, at its meeting of July 15, 1996, the Plan Commission unanimously
recommended to the Village Board that the requested rezoning be granted; and
WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals, at its meeting of August 6, 1996,
unanimously recommended to the Village Board that the requested rezoning be
granted, and
WHEREAS, the corporate authorities of the Village of Oak Brook have
considered the recommendations of the said Zoning Board of Appeals and the
Oak Brook Plan Commission concerning said rezoning; and
WHEREAS, the Village President and Board of Trustees deem it in the best
interest of the Village of Oak Brook that the property described herein be
rezoned to R-1 Single Family Detached Residence District;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows:

Section 1: That the provisions of the preamble hereinabove set forth are
hereby adopted as though fully set forth herein.
Section 2: That the hereinafter described property, commonly known as
Butler National Golf Course, 2616 York Road, Oak Brook, Illinois is hereby
rezoned to R-1 Single Family Detached Residence District in its entirety.
Said property is located at 2616 York Road and is legally described as

with the provisions of Sections 2 and 3 of this ordinance.
Section 5: That all ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this
ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict, but only as they
apply to the specific property hereinabove described.
Section 6: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after passage and approval pursuant to law.
