AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A VARIATION FROM THE PROVISIONS OF
THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK
RELATIVE TO CURB REQUIREMENTS
(Oak Brook Park District,1450 Forest Gate Road,Oak Brook, IL 60523)
WHEREAS,an application has been filed requesting a variation from Section X(E)(a)(c)(4)(g)of
the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Oak Brook to allow construction of a driveway around the Oak
Brook Park District's Family Recreation Center, 1450 Forest Gate Road, Oak Brook, Illinois,without the
curb required by this section;and
WHEREAS,the Zoning Board of Appeals of the Village of Oak Brook, pursuant to due and
appropriate legal notice, conducted a public hearing on this application on March 2, 1999, and has
recommended the granting of the variation;and
WHEREAS,the said Zoning Board of Appeals made findings that the requested variation met the
applicable standards of Section XIII(G)(4)of the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Oak Brook;and
WHEREAS,the corporate authorities concur with the recommendation and findings of the Zoning
Board of Appeals;
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows:
Section 1: That the provisions of the preamble hereinabove set forth are hereby adopted as
though fully set forth herein.
Section 2: That the variation granted herein pursuant to this ordinance is limited to the property
located at 1450 Forest Gate Road, Oak Brook, Illinois,commonly known as the Oak Brook Family
Recreation Center and legally described as follows:
Lots 3 and 4 in Autumn Oaks, Unit One, being a subdivision of part of Section 26,
Township 39 North, Range 11 East of the Third Principal Meridian, according to the Plat
thereof recorded February 1, 1973, as Document No. R73-5825 in DuPage County,
Illinois. Permanent Parcel Nos. 06-26-303-004 and 06-26-303-003, respectively.
Section 3: That a variation is hereby granted from the provisions of Section X(E)(a)(c)(4)(g)of the
Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Oak Brook to allow construction of a driveway around the Park
District's Family Recreation Center without curbing as required by said section, subject to the conditions
and restrictions set forth in Section 4.
Section 4: This variation is subject to the following conditions and restrictions:
1. That not less than two signs, opposite from each other, be posted along the subject driveway;
and
2.That if the Village, in its sole discretion, determines that there is a traffic or safety problem at the
subject driveway,the Oak Brook Park District shall install two gates approved by the Oak Brook Fire
Department to discourage use of the driveway by the general public.

Section 5: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon and after its passage,
approval and publication as required by law.
