AN ORDINANCE READOPTING
THE VISION AND MISSION STATEMENTS
OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK
WHEREAS,on August 8, 1995,the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook
approved Ordinance 95-BD-BOT-EX2-S-826,believing that sound plain begins with an organirationt
statement of its vision and its mission,and
WHEREAS.the President and Board of Trustees revisit these vision and mission -mwft on
an annual basis in contunction with the Board's consideration i of annual objectives.most recently oaring i)
at the Committee-of-the-Whole meeting on.tune 7, 1999,and
WHEREAS,after careful consideration,the President and Board of Trustees deem adoption of the
statement of vision and statement of mission with an amendment set forth below to be in the best Interests
of the Village,and
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES. ILLINOIS as follows:

Section 2: That the President and Board of Trustees approve and adopt the Statement of Vision
which is attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit"A".

which is attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit"B".

Mission Statement

The mission of the tillage of Oak Brook is to provide the
community with excellent local government services that meet
the needs of its citizens and are delivered in a professional,
responsive and responsible manner.
To achieve this mission, the tillage will:
• Strive to deliver high-quality municipal services in a cost-effective and fiscally
responsible manner; with courtesy, integrity and fairness; and with a view
toward the good of the entire community as well as the individual resident or
corporate citizen.
• Continually evaluate the content and qualify of Village programs and services.
• Engage in ongoing planning and development efforts designed to preserve
and enhance the value of property in the Tillage.
• Consult with and involve oak Brook citizens in the V1111age's decision making
processes.
• Seek to develop a Village staff that emulates, through ifs values and
performance, this mission.and its tenets.
