Subject: Sale of Surplus Vehicles via DuPage Mayors&Mauagers Conference
Auction
The recommendation is that the Village'Board pass the attached ordinance
declaring two vehicles surplus and authorizing their sale through the D!cFPa�e
i4�lavors&lViana @ers Conference public auction.
The attached ordinance declares two vehicles as surplus and authorizes their sale at the
DuPage Mayors&Managers Conference surplus vehicle and equ pment auction. The
vehicles declared surplus will be one Police Department vehicle(1.IFl.t#303 1997 Crown
Victoria),and one Sports Core vehicle(unit#7041986 Ford Bronco). The age and
current/projected mileage for these vehicles is also listed. The Conference charges a 15% �
administrative fee,which will be subtracted from the gross receipts.

The auction is scheduled for Saturday,June 26, 1999 at the College of DuPage,with
bidding beginning at 10:00 a.m. As in past years,the Village is required to supply one
staff person(usually a Police Officer)to assist the Conference with the auction.

lawsuit citing the location of the Library on the Sports Core property. With
that lawsuit resolved,the Oak Brook Library Foundation has been organized to
raise the $2,000,000 needed to help fund the project and to provide ongoing
support for the Library. The Foundation has contacted the commercial sector
in Oak Brook as well as its residents for donations. Trustee Caleel has been
appointed President of the Foundation and the Friends thanked hire for his
undaunted efforts on behalf of the Library.
President Bushy thanked the Friends of the Oak Brock Public Library for their
devotion and efforts on our Library and as leaders in our community. She
commended Trustee Caleel for his vision of the Library, and the Village is
hopeful that a ground breaking ceremony will occur at our Autumn Festival
this fall.
Library Director Martin also commended the Friends of the Oak Brook Public
Library for their efforts in development of the Library and. their most recent
fund raising efforts of the used book sale.
