Village of Oak Brook

RECOMMENDATION:
I
1) That the Village President and Board of Trustees adopt the attached
resolution approving amendments to the 1992 Employee Pay Plan effective September
8, 1992. These amendments would:
i
a) Create a new Secretary (Grade 2) position within the Bureau of
Inspections; I'
b) Create a new Plan Reviewer/Chief Building Inspector (Grade 9)
position within the Bureau of Inspections;
c) Eliminate the Assistant to the Building Commissioner (Grade 6)
position within the Bureau; !!
d) Create a new Account Clerk-Cashier/Purchasing Clerk (Grade 3) !�
position in the Finance Department; and
e) Create a new Administrative Assistant (Grade 7) position in the
Finance Department. j
Since the Plan Reviewer/Chief Building Inspector and Administrative Assistant
positions are new positions for the Pay Plan, their job descriptions are attached
for your review. The Account Clerk position already exists, however, the Account
Clerk-Cashier/Purchasing Clerk position job description is also attached for your
review. The Secretary (Grade 2) position is-a long-standing position in the Pay j
Plan.

2) That the Village President and Board of Trustees approve amendments to
the Fair Labor Standards Act policies for the Village of Oak Brook effective
September 8, 1992 to include the proposed position of Plan Reviewer/Chief
Building Inspector (Grade 9), and also to �.s�srporate changes made to the 1991 !
Employee Pay Plan by Resolution R-549 (seelllf}ached) that eliminated the Bath &
Tennis Clubhouse Manager position and created a Food & Beverage Manager/Chef
(Grade 5) position at the Bath & Tennis Club. These amendments were made
effective January 1, 1992, however, our list of exempt employees was not updated !�
at that tine.

1. MEETING CALL: CALL TO ORDER
The Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees was called to order by
President Bushy in the Samuel E. Dean Board Room of the Village Commons
at 7:32 p.m. Pledge of Allegiance was given.
2. ROLL CALL: ROLL CALL
The Clerk called the roll with the following persons
PRESENT: President Bushy, Trustees Mayer, Shumate, and Skinner.
Trustee Payovich arrived at 7:57 p.m.
ABSENT: Trustees Bartecki and Winters.
IN ATTENDANCE: Vince Long, Assistant to Village Manag,3r; Richard A.
Martens, Village Attorney; Maggie Powers, Finance Officer/Treasurer;
Dale L. Durfey, Jr., Village Engineer; Ton Hawk, Director of Code
Enforcement; Charles McAdams, Sports Core Manager and Ton Wangelin,
Athletic Director/Tennis Pro.
3. ANNOUNCEMENTS & OPEN FORUM: ANNOUNCEMEPIT
President Bushy read a Construction Alert bulletin from the Illinois
Toll Highway Authority stating the partial demolition of the Cermak Road
Bridge from midnight to 5:00 a.m. Staff will notify Homeowner
Association residents in the affected area.
4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: MINUTES
Trustee Skinner moved to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting of
August 2S, 1992 as presented and waive the full reading thereof.
Seconded by Trustee Mayer. VOICE VOTE: Motion carried with Trustee
Shumate abstaining.

Trustee Skinner moved to approve the Consent Agenda. Seconded by
Trustee Shumate. ROLL CALL VOTE:
Ayes: 4-Trustees Mayer, Shumate, Skinner and President Bushy.
Nays: 0-None.
Absent: 3-Trustees Bartecki, Payovich and Winters. Motion carried.
