R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, JOHN B. BATTISTELLA, has been associated with the
Suburban Life Newspapers for twenty -five years serving with
distinction as both a reporter and associate editor, and,
WHEREAS, during the last twelve years of said service with
the Suburban Life, Mr. Battistella has been assigned the Oak Brook
area, and,
WHEREAS, during JOHN B. BATTISTELLA'S association with the
Village of Oak Brook, the community has undergone a dramatic
transition from a rural area to one of the country's finest planned
communities, and,
WHEREAS, this growth and development was always and at all
times faithfully recorded and reported for the benefit of area
residents by JOHN B. BATTISTELLA, and,
WHEREAS, over the years, Mr. Battistella developed a style of
writing and reporting which is not only fair and factual, but is
also complete with in -depth background information which enables
all readers to easily understand the variety of complex matters
which is the substance of municipal government, and,
WHEREAS, JOHN B. BATPISTELLA has consistently displayed
integrity, interest, dedication and devotion to the highest
principles of journalistic ethics, and,
WHEREAS, the citizens of Oak Brook and environs have most
certainly developed a better understanding of their community's
affairs due, in a large part, to Mr. Battistella's efforts, and,
WHEREAS, JOHN B. RAIMISTELLA has been reassigned and will
henceforth cover the activities of the Village of Westchester, our
good neighbor community to the east,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook, that they do hereby express,
on behalf of all the residents of the Village of Oak Brook, their
sincere and grateful thanks to JOHN B. BATTISTELLA for his many
journalistic contributions to the village, and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be presented to
JOHN B. BATTISTELLA with best wishes for continued success in his
new assignment, and,
BE IT STILL FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution
be spread upon the official records and proceedings of the Village
of Oak Brook.
