MEMO TO: President and Board of Trustees

Dale L. Durfey, Jr . , P.E.
SUBJECT: Meyers Road/35th Street

attached "Resolution for Improvement by Municipality Under
the Illinois Highway Code" which appropriates total MFT
funding (949,209. 17 ) for the Village ' s share of the,. above
project .
Subsequent to the Village' s request to the County of DuPage. the Village
Board. at its regular meeting of February 13 . 1990, approved an
Intergovernmental Agreement with DuPage County for the installation of a
traffic signal system at the intersection of 35th Street and Meyers Road.
This agreement stipulates that the Village pay 50% of the total traffic
signal costs. The County of DuPage is to pa.y the remaining 50% of the-
total costs and be the contract awarding authority.
The said traffic signal system was installed last ,year, is currently
operational and was accepted by the County for their maintenance I
responsibility on January 10, 1991 .. Meyers Road is under County
jurisdiction.
i
Your action on the attached "Resolution for Improvement by Municipality
Under the Illinois Highway Code" is required by IDOT for MFT funding of a
project. This resolution would appropriate the sum of $49,209. 17 which is
the Village ' s total cast of this project . In accordance with the
Intergovernmental Agreement, $47,593.73 is due the County of DuPage. The
remaining $1 ,615.44 will reimburse the Village for in-house costs to have
i OPTICOM aisxnal pre-emption equipment installed at this intersection by
i Pinner Electric Company. OPTICOM installation was not included within this
ihteravernmental Agreement . It is County of DuPage policy that all casts
associated with OPTICOM he paid by the agency requesting this type of
signal pre-emption equipment .
