Regional Police Training Academy, to the Village
Board for their acceptance. (Please note, a
model resolution is attached) .
The concept of a Regional Police Training Academy at the College of
DuPage has the universal support of the DuPage Police Chiefs
Association the DuPage Mayors and Managers.

There are currently five police training heademieek basic State of
Illinois which are certified to teach
class. Three of these academies are downstate. two academies one is in
Champaign and two are in Springfield.
are in the Chicago area.
Illinois work for departments nor h of Io80the
police officers in
The DuPage Police Chiefs Association strongly supports the concept
of a sixth academy certified to teach basic training. The
recommended site of the sixth academy is the College of DuPage
(C.O.D.) An academy at C.O.D. would reduce the cost of recruit
training because it would eliminate housing costs; reduce per diem
costs; and reduce travel costs.
Resolutions oupporting this concept have been signed by the DuPage
County police Chiefs Association, DuPage County Mayors and Managers
kssociation, The DuPage County Board, and the Villages vi of Other
Park, Glendale Heights, Woodridge, assing said
villages, as well as Oak Brook, are considering p
resolutions.
