WHEREAS, JOHN KINSEZ A, a resident of Oak Brook, Illinois,
has devoted many long and arduous hours of training towards the
goal of becoming the nation's outstanding swimmer; and,
VIMUAS, JOHN KINSELLA was chosen as a member of the 1968
Olympic Swimming Team representing the United States of America;
and,
WHEREAS, JOHN KINSELLA has consistently distinguished himself
and his community through his swimming achievements both locally
and nationally; and,
WHEREAS, JOHN KINSr`'LLA is known not only as fierce competitor
and good sportsman, but also as a truly outstanding young man who
offers a superb testimonial for the ability of today's youth; and,
WHEREAS, on January 25th, 1971, JOHN KINSEI.LA was named to
be the recipient of the Sullivan Trophy as the nation's outstanding
amateur athlete for 1970; and,
WHEREAS, on March 7th, 1971, the Sullivan Trophy will formally
be presented to JOHN KINSELLA by the President of the Amateur
Athletic Union at ceremonies in Oak Brook;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Samuel E. Dean, Jr., President of the
Village of Oak Brook, Illinois, do hereby designate Sunday, March
7th, 1971, as "JOHN KINSELLA DAP" in and for the Village of Oak
Brook, Illinois, and I hereby call upon all citizens, organizations,
the public information media and west suburban residents to recognize
this special day as a tribute to the outstanding achievement of
Oak Brook's JOHN KINSELLA.
