RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, WILLIAM D. WALSH was an esteemed and highly regarded citizen of
the Village of Oak Brook; and
WHEREAS, the said WILLIAM D. WALSH faithfully served his Country while in the
Navy in World War II and the people of the State of Illinois as an Illinois State Representative
from 1961 to 1981; and
WHEREAS, WILLIAM D. WALSH also played a leading role in the passage and
formation of the Regional Transportation Authority and sponsored legislation making
community colleges an integral part of the state's educational system; and
WHEREAS, the death of WILLIAM D. WALSH leaves a void in the hearts of the
citizens he served and he will be sorely missed by all of his friends and neighbors, as well as the
official family of the Village of Oak Brook.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of
the Village of Oak Brook do hereby express their most sincere gratitude to WILLIAM D.
WALSH for his civic efforts, for his insight, integrity and genuine concern for the quality of life
of the residents of Illinois.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be delivered to the
family of the said WILLIAM D. WALSH and that this Resolution be spread upon the official
permanent records of said Village.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Oak Brook, DuPage and Cook Counties, Illinois, this 12th day of August, 2003.
