and our posterity"- -the constitutico of the United States of America gives us
the foundation for a free, prosperous, and independent life for every citizen,
but each generation, in time, must work for and claim it; otherwise, through
carelessness or indifference, the rights and liberties we have enjoyed may
vanish, and
WORM, it is of the greatest consequence that the citizens fully
understand the provisions null principles contained in the Constitution of the
United States of America in order to be able to support it properly as, "the
greatest.docuraent for human liberty in 2,ODO years of recorded history,% and
IMMEAS, the Constitution in times of stress as well as in peace has
provided the American people with a moue enduring and practical government and
a greater degree of prosperity than any other people have enjoyed. gw unequalled
excellence of this document deserves our confidence and support, and
WMS, the people of Oak Brook are grateful to the to ndiog fathers
for the wisdom and foresight they displayed in writing and adopting the
Constitution, and
MEMAS, it is deemed appropriate that the Daughters of the American
Revolution be saluted for their proposal that the signing of the Constitution be
annually commemorated. 7he observanoe was decreed by federal law in 1956, and
WBWAS, the independence granted to the American people to enjoy such
freedom and liberty, unknown to any other country, would be celebrated by
appropriate ceremonies and activities,
