R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village
of Oak Brook take note of and are deeply saddened by the sudden and
untimely passing of ROBERT LEMPKE on September 26th, 1971, and,
WHEREAS, ROBERT LEMPKE was a member of the Oak Brook Plan
Commission since May 24th, 1970, and,
WHEREAS, ROBERT LEMPKE consistently devoted energy and time
above and-beyond the call of duty in the discharge of his obligations
and responsibilities as a member of the Plan Commission, and,
WHEREAS, ROBERT LEMPKE was noted for his keen wit, analytical
mind, and unique willingness to help and serve his village and his
fellow man, and,
WHEREAS, ROBERT LEMPKE always and at all times, sub3cribed
to the classic ATHENIAN PLEDGE which states, in part: "We will
strive unceasingly to quicken the public's sense of civic duty, that
thus in all ways, we may transmit this city greater, better and more
beautiful than it was transmitted to us," and,
WHEREAS, ROBERT LEMPKE, throughout his life in Oak Brook,
exemplified this statement, and,
WHEREAS, ROBERT LEMPKE will be sorely missed by all of his
friends, neighbors and the official family of the Village of Oak Brook;
NOW, TH&REPORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Trustees of
the Village of Oak Brook, that on behalf of all village residents,
they do hereby extend their sincerest and deepest sympathy to the
family of ROBERT LEMPKE on the occasion of his untimely death.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the village president be and he
is hereby directed to deliver, with sympathy, this resolution to the
family of ROBERT LEMPKE,
BE IT STILL FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution
be spread upon the official records and proceedings of the Village
of Oak Brook,
PASSED and APPROVED by the President and Board of Trustees
this 28th day of September, 1971.
