R E S O L U T I O N
BE IT KNOWN THROUGHOUT THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK THAT:
WHEREAS, JOAN KINSELLA, a resident of Oak Brook,
Illinois, has engaged himself in the rigorous discipline
necessary to become an outstanding swimmer; and,
WHEREAS, he has distinguished himself by holding
the 100 yard free -style interscholastic swimming record in
the State of Illinois; and
WHEREAS, through demonstrated performance in inter-
scholastic competition he has been selected to represent
the United States of America in the 1968 Olympics in
Mexico City; and
WHEREAS, JOHN KINSELLA'S selection as a member of
the United States Olympic Swimming Team has brought distinc-
tion to the Village of Oak Brook.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
The Village of Oak Brook wishes to honor JOHN KINSELT.A
by declaring the date of October 25, 1968, the date of the
1968 Olympic Swimming Competition in maxico City, as
"JOHN KINSELLA DAY" in the Village of Oak Brook, and
FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
A suitably engraved permanent memento of the 1968
Olympic Swimming Competition be presented to JOHN KINSELLA
in recognition of his outstanding achievement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of these resolu-
tions be delivered to the said JOHN KINSELLA 1�7 the Clerk of
the Village of Oak Brook and that these resolutions be spread
upon the records of said Village.
Passed and approved by unanimous acclaim by the
President ar,'1 Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook,
