R-190 - 12/09/1975 - APPRECIATION - Resolutions- R -190 AP p�Nif�l. 9-/-70. wr�.�K�ti R E S O L U T I O M WHEREAS the State of Illinois recognises that the Village of Oak Brook lies in DuPage County, one of thn most rapidly expanding urbanised areas in the United States, and is in the population and geographic center of the Chicago Metropolitan six- county area; and WHEREAS the State of Illinois eecogniaes that the Village of Oak Brook is the focal point for business and industry providing employment for thousands of Metropolitan Area residents; and 'WHEREAS the State of Illinois recognizes that the Village of Oak Brook is the center point of an excellent regional transportation network- providing links to all parts of the Chicago Metropolitan Area by a system of tollways, federal and state highways which pass through the Village; and WHEREAS, the State of Illinois, DuPage County, and the Village of Oak Brook have developed a Regional Traf fie Plan which provides added trans- portation capacity through improved highways, interebanges, and development of alternative travel mode choices for regional and sub - regional areas; and WHEREAS GOV. DANIEL L. WALKER has through his action given continued support to this goal through his efforts by establishin5 priority for regional protects and providing funding for construction of these projects; and WHEREAS GOV. DANIEL L. WALKER and the Illinois Department of Trans- portation have provided coordination and assistance in the tasks necessary' for implementation of these plans; and WHEREAS GOV. DANIEL L. WALKER has participated in commemorating the completion of the First Phase of the implementation consisting timely and efficient construction of 22nd Street, Spring Road and Illinois Toll Highway at Oak Brook, Illinois. NOW, THE BEFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the President and Board of Trustees, on behalf of the citizens of the Village of Oak Brook> adopt tLis resolution of appreciation thanking said COV. DANIEL L. WALKER for his active participation In this much needed improvement. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Village President be and he is hereby directed to present this resolution to GOV. DANIEL L. WALKER. BE IT STILL FURZIMR RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be spread upon the official records and proceedings of the Village of Oak Brook, Illinois.
