R-717 - 01/26/1999 - SUBDIVISIONS- FINAL PLAT - Resolutions Supporting Documents Both the replacement of the existing pool deck and the addition of an
adult whirlpool were approved as part of the 1999 Budget. The
amount budgeted in the Sports Core Capital Project Program (841)
for the replacement of the deck is$75,000,and the additional amount
for the adult whirlpool is $30,000. Indications from several vendors
are that it is possible to have this work completed prior to the season
if the bid process begins promptly.
Motion by Trustee Savino, seconded by Trustee Bartecki, to authorize
Staff to advertise for bids for replacement of the existing pool deck,
with the addition of an adult whirlpool and pool slide as alternates.

DESIGN REVIEW
I
The Library Commission has reviewed the concept design, the
building program and the most recent cost estimates from Carow
Architects Planners. The Library Commission believes the concept
design at 22,560 square feet lacks necessary storage space and
recommends that the plan return to the original 24,000 square feet
and include the roof overhang. The Library Commission also
recommends maintaining the curvilinear design. 1
The Library Commission is concerned at the increased costs due to 1
delay caused by litigation, but support the Foundation efforts to
minimize the impact. The pledges to the Foundation at this point
give confidence that these enhancements to the building can be
provided without the Village exceeding the approximately $3.5
million (plus two years' interest) originally stated in the 1996
referendum question and approved by the Village Board in January,
1997.
The building program is still applicable with the exception of changes
in available technology. The Library Commission is reviewing the
current draft of the technology plan for the new Library in'order to
assure tl.at Oak Brook will have "state of the art" technology in its

Re: Diepstra Subdivision
2415 35th Street
Oak Brook,IL
Dear Mr.Durfey,
As you know, I recently sent you a letter concerning a possible error in the drawings for the above referenced
subdivision. We are happy to report that we have confirmed there was an error. Through Bollinger, Lach and
Associates,we are going to rye-plat all of Diepstra subdivision reflecting the correct dimensions. We are further happy
to report that now it is under 3 acres and therefore,it is our understanding the detention requirements no longer apply.
We are asking Bollinger,Lach&Assoc.to remove the detention notation on the re-plat of this subdivision. We are
going to be submitting our revised site plan to you under separate cover pursuant to Heather Koy's letter to us dated
10/23/98 with all the items corrected except for the detention. We respectfully request you review the same while we're
waiting for the signatures on the revised plat. Further, would you consider allowing us to start the home after you have
reviewed the re-plat without all the signatures on the revised plat? Dr.and Mrs.Diepstra are going to be distributing
and handling the plat for signatures. As I'm sure you may appreciate,we are anxious to begin construction prior to the
onset of inclement weather. Kindly advise your comments on this please.
As I had previously reported to you,the old irons and monumentation confirmed the correct dimensions. Bollinger,
Lach and Assoc.have been extremely cooperative and are closely working with us to correct this. Naturally, should
you have any questions, comments or concerns, kindly contact the undersigned at any time or Dr.and Mrs.Diepstra
(630-655-0035).
We look forward to getting this home started in the immediate future. We look forward to working with you, your staff
and the Village of Oak Brook.
