R-887 - 10/26/2004 - APPRECIATION - Resolutions Supporting DocumentsT MINUTES OF THE OCTOBER 26, 2004 REGULAR MEETING OF THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK APPROVED AS WRITTEN ON NOVEMBER 9, 2004. 1. CALL TO ORDER: The Regular Meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was called to order by President Quinlan in the Samuel E. Dean Board Room of the Butler Government Center at 7:30 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was given. 2. ROLL CALL: Village Clerk Linda Gonnella called the roll with the following persons PRESENT: President Kevin M. Quinlan, Trustees Stelios Aktipis, George T. Caleel, John W. Craig, Susan Chase Korin, Asif Yusuf and Elaine Zannis. ABSENT: None. IN ATTENDANCE: Richard B. Boehm, Village Manager; Jeffrey P. Moline, Assistant Village Manager; Robert Cronholm, Fire Chief, Dale L. Durfey, Jr., Village Engineer; Robert L. Kallien, Jr., Director of Community Development; Bruce F. Kapff, Director of Information Services & Purchasing; Darrell J. Langlois, Finance Director; Meg Klinkow, Library Director; Michael J. Meranda, Director of Public Works and Harlan Spiroff, Attorney. 3. RESIDENTNISITOR COMMENT: SOLUTION OF APPRECIATION —JOHN MULLINS President Quinlan asked for a motion to approve a Resolution of Appreciation for John Mullins. Motion by Trustee Korin, seconded by Trustee Yusuf, to approve a Resolution of Appreciation to John Mullins as presented. VOICE VOTE: Motion carried. President Quinlan read in its entirety the resolution of appreciation in memory of John Mullins a resident of Oak Brook. President Quinlan announced that Joan Mullins had asked to speak to the Board of Trustees. Joan Mullins thanked the community for their sympathy and support that the Mullins family had received during the past three years of Mr. Mullins' illness and passing. She commended President Quinlan for having the Village of Oak Brook's flag being flown at half -mast in his honor to commemorate his life and passing. Mullins Return to search page Obituaries in the news Funeral- related announcements and services Contact Legacy com John F 'Jack' Mullins, of Oak Brook, past president of Mullins Food Products for over 40 years, loving husband and best friend of Joan, nee Strain; beloved father of Michael (Sharon), Edward (Patty), Jeanne (James) Gannon, William (Linda), Marianne (William) Vivinto, James (Line), Judy (John) Lucas, Thomas (Joan), Jacqueline (Christopher) Stent, Kathryn (John) Burke and Shannon (Brian) Smith; proud grandfather of 34; dear brother of Edward, Mary Therese Rigali and Patricia Pinter and the late June Kroll, cherished son of the late Harry and Mabel Mullins, fond brother -in -law and friend of many. Jack was born in Chicago on February 20, 1924 He served his country proudly as a fighter pilot during WWII, bravely flying P -47 and P -51 aircraft in dozens of missions to remote Pacific Islands and over Japan. Jack devoted his life to his family, church, friends and the people of Mullins Food Products. His generosity knew no bounds, and many hundreds of people were touched and assisted by his kindness and wisdom. We will miss his warm smile, easy laugh and the love he freely gave Visitation Sunday, 2 p m. until 9 p m at Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 South York Road, (1/2 mile North of Saint Charles Road), Elmhurst Friends and family will meet for a Mass of Christian Burial Monday, 10 a m at Notre Dame Catholic Church, Clarendon Hills Interment Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, Hillside.
