RECOMMENDED MOTION: The Village Board approve Resolution 2011- PL -AG-
EX1 -R -1139, a resolution approving an employment agreement between the Village of Oak
Brook and the Chief of Police appointee. .
Background/History:
The Village will be presenting an employment agreement with the Village President's top choice
for the Chief of Police position. We will email you the draft agreement by Monday.
Recommendation:
The Village Board approves Resolution R -1139, a resolution approving an employment
agreement between the Village of Oak Brook and the Chief of Police appointee.

RESOLUTION 2011- PL- AG -EX1 -R -1139
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION
OF THE CHIEF OF POLICE EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK AND
WHEREAS, due to a vacancy in the position of Police Chief for the Village of Oak Brook
( "Village') which occurred on or about April 29, 2011, the President and Board of Trustees directed the
Village Manager to conduct a national search for qualified candidates for the position; and
WHEREAS, from that national search finalists were determined and subsequently interviewed by
the President and Board of Trustees; and
WHEREAS, from that group a finalists, the President has appointed and the Board of Trustees
has approved C ") as the successful candidate and the next
Police Chief for the Village; and
WHEREAS, the Village and desire to enter into a Chief of Police
Employment Agreement ( "Agreement') for the position of Police Chief of the Oak Brook Police
Department ( "Department"); and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees have determined that it is in the best interests of
the Village to enter into the Agreement in substantially the form attached to, and by this reference
incorporated into, this Resolution as Exhibit A.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows:
Section 1: Recitals. The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into, and made a part
of, this Resolution as the findings of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook.
Section 2: Approval of the Agreement. The President and Board of Trustees hereby
approve the Chief of Police Employment Agreement between the Village and in a
form substantially the same attached to this Resolution as Exhibit A and in final form acceptable to the
Village President, Village Manager and the Village Attorney.
Section 3: Authorization and Execution of the First Amendment. The Village President and
Village Clerk shall be, and hereby are, authorized to execute the final Agreement on behalf of the Village.
Section 4: Effective Date. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect upon passage and
approval in the manner provided by law.
