G-38 - 07/10/1962 - LICENSE AGREEMENT - Ordinances JEB:KM 6-19-62 1 & 9 cc. _ PA So1-1r-TATIOA) AM fib *7- is-` x• G. 3 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AN ORDINANCE LICENSING PEDDLERS AND SOLICITORS WITHIN THE LIMITS OF THE VILLAGE OF OAKBROOK, DU PAGE COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AND REPEALING AN ORDINANCE THERETO PERTAINING, PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES ON THE 21st DAY OF APRIL, A. D. 1961, AS AMENDED BE IT ORDAINED by the President and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Oakbrook, County of DuPage and State of Illinois: Section 1. That Section 3 of an ordinance licensing peddlers and solicitors within the limits of the Village of Oakbrook, DuPage County, Illinois, passed and approved on the 21st day of April, A. D. 1961, be and the same is hereby amended, and as amended shall read as follows : "Section 3 : License Application. Application for such peddler's or solicitor's license shall be made to the Chief of Police and shall state the name and address of the company or firm whose merchandise the applicant proposes to sell, or for whom he proposes to solicit business, and shall describe the particular sort of merchandise or service for which he proposes to solicit orders or to sell." Section 2. That Section 7 of said ordinance be and the same is hereby amended, and as amended shall read as follows: "Section 7 : Soliciting for Charitable Causes. It shall be unlawful for any person to solicit for charitable causes with- out first having registered with the Chief of Police of the Village of Oakbrook, Illinois, and having obtained a permit so to do, unless said person is licensed as a peddler or solicitor under the terms of this ordinance. No fee shall be required for such permit." Section 3. That Section 8 of said ordinance be and the same is hereby amended, and as amended shall read as follows: "Section 8 : Permit or License to be Carried on Person. Any peddler, solicitor or solicitor for charitable causes shall at all times carry upon his or her person the license or permit issued by the Chief of Police and shall exhibit same upon request to any police officer or to any person upon whom he or she calls in the course of their business." Section 4. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication as by statute in such cases made and provided. 1 Passed and approved by the President and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Oakbrook, Illinois , this fy day of « A.
