Minutes - 12/14/2006 - Firefighter's Pension Fund BoardMINUTES OF THE DECEMBER 14, 2006 SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE OAK BROOK FIREFIGHTERS PENSION FUND APPROVED AS WRITTEN ON APRIL 23, 2007. 1. CALL TO ORDER The Special Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Oak Brook Firefighters Pension Fund was called to order by President Erickson at 9:10 a.m. in the Upper Level Conference Room of the Butler Government Center, 1200 Oak Brook Road, Oak Brook, IL. 2. ROLL CALL Recording Secretary Gonnella called the roll with the following persons PRESENT: President Erickson, Secretary John Fagan, Trustees Scott Harris, Darrell J. Langlois and Timothy Schlindwein. ABSENT: None. IN ATTENDANCE: Firefighter William Garrigan; Anthony Argeros representing Firefighter Garrigan and Richard J. Reimer, Board Attorney. Attorney Reimer requested that the Board of Trustees motion to appoint him as the hearing officer for purposes to preside over the hearing and rule on any objections. Motion by Trustee Langlois, seconded by Secretary Fagan, to appoint Richard J. Reimer as the hearing officer for purposes as described in the disability hearing process. ROLL CALL VOTE: Ayes. 5 - President Erickson, Secretary Fagan, Trustees Harris, Langlois and Schlindwein. Nays: 0 - None. Absent: 0 - None. 3. DISCUSSION OF DISABILITY HEARING PROCESS — Attorney Richard Reimer Attorney Reimer discussed the disability hearing process with the Board members and adjourned to a closed session to determine that all the Board members may proceed in the hearing process. 4. Disability Application of William Garrigan It is noted for the record that a court reporter transcribed the minutes of William Garrigan's line of duty disability hearing that began at 9:18 a.m. 5. ADJOURN TO A CLOSED MEETING TO DISCUSS EVIDENCE PRESENTED IN THE DISABILITY HEARING It is noted for the record that a court reporter transcribed the minutes of the closed meetings to discuss evidence presented in the disability hearing of William Garrigan. 6. ADJOURN TO THE DISABILITY HEARING FOR POSSIBLE DELIBERATION The Board recessed the hearing at 11:32 a.m. The hearing reconvened at 11:43 a.m. A court reporter processed the minutes of the closed session and hearing for deliberation. 7. ADJOURNMENT Motion by Secretary Fagan, seconded by President Erickson, to adjourn the regular meeting at 3:35 p.m. VOICE VOTE: Motion carried.
