Meeting was called to order at 3:04 p.m.
APPROVAL OF DECEMBER 5, 2002 MINUTES
Moved by Ralph Maxson and seconded by John Merrill to approve the minutes of
the December 5, 2002 meeting as submitted. Motion passed 5 -0.
OLD BUSINESS
John Merrill questioned whether Acting Village Manager Crotty presented
the Committee's opinion concerning the use of Hotel Tax Receipts for the
Independence Day Celebration to the Village Board. Chairman Mira
responded that Manager Crotty had not mentioned this during their recent
luncheon meeting. Julie Coker questioned use of Hotel Tax Funds and
John Merrill further explained the use is for promoting overnight stays in
the Village of Oak Brook.
NEW BUSINESS
1) Release of Fourth Quarter 2002 Hotel Tax Receipts to DuPage Convention
and Visitors Bureau - $17,649.02: Motion by Chuck Fleming and
seconded by Ralph Maxson to authorize the Village Board to release the
fourth quarter 2002 tax receipts to the DuPage Convention and Visitors
Bureau in the amount of $17,649.02. Motion passed 5 -0.
2) Update — 2003 Marketing Campaign: Denise Brownell gave a brief
summary noting that the leisure portion of the Campaign is on target. All
items have been placed for February, and an ad has been placed in

Midwest Living. Illinois Adventures also will be coming out as materials
have been submitted. She indicated that more information will be
available after February 25`h. Chairman Mira and Julie Coker will attend
the Marketing Subcommittee meeting on February 25 th
A comment was made relative to the Residence Inn participating in the Marketing
Campaign.
OTHER BUSINESS
John Merrill noted an article of interest in today's Daily Herald which discusses
DuPage County thinking about giving itself more regulatory power which could
lead to imposing additional hotel taxes.
ADJOURNMENT
Motion by Chuck Fleming and seconded by John Merrill to adjourn the meeting
at 3:20 p.m. Motion passed 5 -0.
