Katie Kozlicki, Creative Marketing, Inc. Meeting was called to order at 2:05 p.m. APPROVAL OF FEBRUARY 7, 2002 MEETING MINUTES Moved by Ralph Maxson and seconded by Tony Mira to approve the minutes of the February 7, 2002 meeting as submitted. Motion passed 5 -0. OLD BUSINESS: A. 2002 Marketing Campaign Update: Representatives from Creative Marketing updated the Committee on activities undertaken so far in 2002. An insert including a giveaway for meeting planners seeking to book meetings in Oak Brook was distributed to the Committee. The insert provides an entry to win an Ultimate Oak Brook Shopping Weekend. Chuck Fleming pointed out that in some parts of the insert, there are references to Oakbrook Center and in others the references are to Oak Brook Shopping Weekend. It was clarified that the grand prize is an overall Oak Brook shopping weekend, while the first and second prizes are Oakbrook Center Ultimate Shopping Excursions. The insert will be corrected to make that distinction. A direct mail piece for groups was also distributed and will be mailed to approximately 6,300 meeting and convention subscribers. An "e -mail blast" that will go to 2,000 meeting planners via the Internet is also planned. Chairman Merrill asked whether precautions have been taken to address privacy concerns. Kristie Sup indicated that she believed the list Pagel of 2 Oak Brook Hotel Convention & Visitors Committee Meeting Minutes: May 2, 2002 was of meeting planners who have registered to receive such information, and that in any event, that would be confirmed before the activity was conducted. It was reported that not much has changed regarding the leisure campaign since the last meeting. The Shop & Stay Package is still in effect and ads have been placed in Midwest Living, the Chicago Tribune and The Daily Herald. It was also reported that DCVB is now receiving calls for fulfillment work regarding the various campaigns. NEW BUSINESS: A. Release of First Quarter Tax Receipts to DCVB: Motion by Ralph Maxson, seconded by Tony Mira to recommend that the Village Board release 20% of the I" Quarter 2002 tax receipts to the DuPage Convention and Visitors Bureau. Motion passed 5 -0. ADJOURNMENT Moved by Chuck Fleming and seconded by Steve Thayer to adjourn the meeting at 2:50 p.m. Motion passed 5 -0. ATTEST: Michael A.
