1. CALL TO ORDER:
The special meeting of the Library Commission was called to order by Chairperson
Melissa Salazar in the Library Meeting Room at 7:07 p.m. `
2. ROLL CALL:
Commissioner Salazar called the roll with the following persons
PRESENT: Commission Chairperson Melissa Salazar, Commissioners William
Duff, Janice Skowron, Randa Bishlawi and Lucia Sutton.
ABSENT: Madeline Bell and Veena Mendiratta
IN ATTENDANCE: Meg Klinkow, Library Director and Michelle M. Coduto,
Office Coordinator.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
REGULAR LIBRARY COMMISSION MEETING — NOVEMBER 9, 2004
Motion by Commissioner Sutton and seconded by Commissioner Skowron to
approve the minutes of the Regular Library Commission Meeting — January 18,
2005 as submitted.

A. REVIEW EXHIBIT OF PLANS FOR LIGHTING, ACOUSTICS AND REVIEW EXHIBIT
GARDEN:
Director Klinkow led the Commissioners to the rotunda to view the exhibit.
B. UPDATE REGARDING THE FOUNDATION AND ART COMMITTEE — ART COMMITTEE
OTHERS INTERESTED ?:
Director Klinkow informed the Commission that she contacted Rebecca Caleel,
who is interested in participating in an art committee for the selection of public art
for the Library purchased by the Library Foundation.

B. QUESTIONNAIRE — PATRON SATISFACTION, USE AND ABUSE OF QUESTIONNAIRE

Director Klinkow distributed the Questionnaire that will be sent out to 1000 Oak
Brook patrons at the end of March. The Library Foundation will pay the postage
for the mailing.
C. DLS NON - RESIDENT LIBRARY CARD PARTICIPATION PER ILLINOIS NON - RESIDENT
PUBLIC LAW 92 -0166: PROGRAM
Motion by Commissioner Bishlawi and seconded by Chairperson Salazar to
participate in the DLS non - resident library card program at $386 per family, July 1,
2005 — June 30, 2006.
D. CHAIRPERSON'S REPORT:
Chairperson Salazar thanked Director Klinkow for her work on the renovation and
beautification of the Library building.
E. DIRECTOR'S REPORT:
Director Klinkow discussed the letter to the community sent by Constintine Xinos.
Klinkow informed the Commission that, contrary to Xinos' letter, the Bath and
Tennis Clubhouse did make a profit in 2004. She also explained the improbability
of the Library becoming a Library District as Xinos suggests it should.
ADJOURNMENT:
Commission Chairperson Melissa Salazar moved to adjourn the meeting at
8:09 p.m. Commissioner Skowron seconded the motion.
