The Oak Brook Library Commission meeting of Tuesday, March 16, 1999 was called
to order by President Roberta Petz in the Upper Level Conference Room of the Village
Commons at 7.30 p m

The minutes of the January 19, 1999 meeting were approved as submitted
OLD BUSINESS
A LIBRARY FOUNDATION REPORT.
Commissioner Petz announced that a mailing will go out to the Oak Brook
residents on April 7, 1999
B FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY REPORT
Commissioner Benezra reported that the Friends sold two mutual funds to
meet the pledge of $100,000 to the Library Benezra also announced that the
Evergreen Concert will take place on April 18, 1999 and the Used Book Sale
on April 23 and 24, 1999
NEW BUSINESS
A. NEW LIBRARY REVIEW/RECOMMENDATION.
Architect Carow discussed his ideas for the new building. The Commission
recommended that Carow present full drawings of both scheme six and seven

B. SERVING OUR PUBLIC STANDARDS
•
Director Martin led the discussion of Chapter 6 on Programming. Martin
stated that youth programming meets the standards as well as possible in the
current building. Programming will increase in all age groups after the move to
the new building
5 PRESIDENT'S REPORT
President Petz had no other business to report
6 DIRECTOR'S REPORT
Director Martin alerted the Commissioners of upcoming meetings and workshops.
7. ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 8 50 p m. by President Petz.
