The regularly scheduled meeting of the Oak Brook Library Commission
was held Monday evening, October 20, 1975, at 7:30 p.m. in the
Village Commons staff lounge.
Minutes of the July 21, 1975, meeting were accepted as submitted.
Father Schmidt was introduced and welcomed to the commission.
Mrs. Carl invited the members to a DuPage Library System Trustee
Workshop, November 1, 1975, in Geneva. The library will be rep-
resented by members from the commission and Library Association
Board.
Librarian Fritter,,presented a report for the months of July,
August and September.
The library received three grants in August from the system.
$2,000 for the purchase of business materials, $500 for children's
non - fiction books and $200 for blind and physically handicapped
materials.
Two agreements were entered into by the commission for the library
to participate in interlibrary loan service to special libraries
and academic libraries in the DLS area. A copy of these agreements
are on file in the library and DLS.
A film, "Multiple Choice," was shown. The film, concerning library
trustees, stimulated some profitable discussion regarding written

policies from other libraries, village as well as district. Erwin
Bahnsen will visit ALA headquarters to get any guidance they might
have to offer.
The Commission meeting adjourned at 10:00 p.m. with the next meeting
