OF THE LIBRARY COMMISSION OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK

1. CALL TO ORDER: CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Library Commission was called to order by Commissioner
Skowron in the Library Meeting Room at 7:15 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL: ROLL CALL
Commissioner Skowron called the roll with the following persons
PRESENT: Commissioners Madeline Bell, William Duff, Veena Mendiratta and
Janice Skowron
ABSENT: Commission Chairperson Melissa Salazar, Commissioners Randa
Bishlawi and Lucia Sutton
IN ATTENDANCE: Meg Klinkow Hartmann, Library Director and Michelle Coduto,
Office Coordinator.
3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: MINUTES
LIBRARY COMMISSION MEETING —SEPTEMBER 19, 2006
Motion by Commissioner Duff and seconded by Commissioner Mendiratta to approve the
minutes of the Regular Library Commission Meeting of September 19, 2006 as written.
4. UNFINISHED BUSINESS UNFINISHED
BUSINESS
A. EXHIBIT AND COMPUTER USE POLICY REVIEW: EXHIBIT AND
COMPUTER USE
POLICY REVIEW
Commissioner Bell moved to approve the Exhibit Policy without change, seconded by
Commissioner Duff.
Commissioner Duff moved to approve the Computer Use Policy without change, seconded
by Commissioner Mendiratta.
B. UPDATE - FUNDRAISING FOR GARDEN MASTER PLAN IMPLEMENTATION: PLAN MASTER
PLAN
IMPLEMENTATION
Director Klinkow Hartmann updated the Commission on the outcome of the fundraising
event. The Foundation has collected just under $1500 from the event, which cost $5000.
5. NEW BUSINESS NEW BUSINESS
A. CHAIRPERSON'S REPORT: CHAIR REPORT
Chairperson Salazar was not in attendance.
B. DIRECTOR'S REPORT: DIRECTOR REPORT
Director Klinkow Hartmann informed the Commission that the Oak Brook Women's Club
Garden Group has donated a cornucopia flower arrangement and the Friends of the Library

have again offered poinsettia plants in December. Linda Gonnella will trim the holiday
tree once again this year.
Director Klinkow Hartmann shared the finer points of the Library's disaster plan, which
she is currently completing.
The Library Commission voiced their appreciation to both the Friends of the Library for
their outstanding Evergreen Concert and to the Village of Oak Brook for their Appreciation
Dinner for Public Officials.
ADJOURNMENT:
Commissioner Skowron moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:02 p.m. Commissioner Bell
seconded the motion.
