AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING LOAD LIMITS ON
CERTAIN STREETS, ROADS AND PUBLIC WAYS
WITHIN THE VILLAGE OF OAKBROOK, DU PAGE
COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AND REPEALING CERTAIN
0RDINANCES THERETO PERTAINING
BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of
the Village of Oakbrook:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. S-80, passed and approved
by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oakbrook
on the 28th day of April, 1964, and all amendments to said ordinance,
be and the same are hereby repealed.
Section 2. That from and after the effective date of
this Act, the gross weight limit of any motor vehicle operated
within the corporate limits of the Village of Oakbrook shall not
exceed the applicable weight limits as established by the Statutes
of the State of Illinois, and as additional limitations no vehicle
shall be operated on any of the streets herein designated which
shall exceed the applicable weight limits as hereinafter set forth.
Section 3. That between the 15th day of February and
the 15th day of May of each year there is hereby established a
gross weight limit of 20,000 pounds on all streets, roads and public ways
within the Village of Oakbrook which are under the jurisdiction of
and maintained by the said Village of Oakbrook.
Section 4. That from and after the effective date of
this ordinance during the period not covered by the foregoing
Section 3, there is hereby established a gross weight limit of
20,000 pounds on the following designated streets for all motor
vehicular traffic except those for which a special permit has been
issued in accordance with the terms of this ordinance, to-wit:
Washington Street 34th Street
Wood Street Ferndale Drive
Wennes Court Canterbury Lane
Luthin Court Coolidge Street
Robinhood Lane Lincoln Street
Robinhood Drive Grant Street
Madison Street Camelot Drive
37th Place Ivy Lane
35th Street Concord Drive
Adams Street Devonshire Drive
Harger Road Hampton Drive
Woodridge Drive Cambridge Drive
Meadowood Drive Croydon Lane
Hickory Drive Sheffield Lane
Palisade Drive Brighton Lane
Woodside Drive Bradford Lane
Yorkshire Drive Windsor Drive
Kendall Avenue Dover Drive

Section 5. Special permits shall be issued by the Building
Commissioner. The Building Commissioner shall issue such permits
only in those instances where he has determined that a permit is
necessary for the reasonable construction of a building or buildings
within the Village or where he has determined that such permits are
reasonably necessary to furnish needed services to the residents of
the Village, and only in those instances where the issuance of such
permits has been approved by the Chairman of the Road Committee of
the Board of Trustees. Such permit in no event shall permit weights
in excess of the applicable state statutory limitations and shall set
the weight and length of time for which such permit is issued.
Section 6. Any person, firm or corporation who is denied
a permit pursuant to this section, and who in his judgment has been
aggrieved by such denial , may appeal to the Board of Trustees for the
issuance of such permit and the Board of Trustees shall make the final
determination. Such appeal need be in no particular form.
ti- Section 7. No trucks shall be permitted to travel on the

following designated streets unless such travel is necessary for a
local delivery or pickup:

Section 8. The Village President is hereby authorized
and directed to cause to be erected appropriate signs which will
give proper notice of the weight limitations and other restrictions
provided herein.
Section 9. Any person, firm or corporation violating the
provisions of this ordinance shall be subject to enalty upon convic-
tion thereof of not less than five nor more tha �� hundred dollars.

Section 10. This ordinance shall be effective from and
after its passage, approval and publication as by statute in such
cases made and provided.
