AN ORDINANCE AMENDING
"THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE
OF OAKBROOK, ILLINOIS, OF 1966" ,
BEING ORDINANCE NO. G-60 ADOPTED
BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF OAKBROOK ON THE
22ND DAY OF MARCH, 1966 , AS
FROM TIME TO TIME AMENDED
Whereas, the following proposed changes in "The Zoning
Ordinance of the Village of Oakbrook, Illinois, of 1966" , as - -
amended, were referred to the Zoning Board of Appeals;and that
Board, after a public hearing convened October 1, 1968 , and con-
tinued to November 26 , 1968 , and concluded December 3 , 1968 ,
pursuant to published notice, recommended the following changes;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Oakbrook, DuPage County, Illinois , that:
Section 1. Section VII , C, 1, g) , (4) of "The Zoning Ordi-
nance of the Village of Oakbrook, Illinois, of 1966" , as amended,
is hereby further amended and as amended shall read as follows:
" (4) horse stables, private -- on lots not less than 2
acres in area, provided that not more than 2 horses
are kept, except that one (1) additional horse may
be kept for each one (1) acre of additional lot area
over two (2) , and no structure used for shelter shall
be nearer than 90 feet from side and rear lot lines
and 150 feet from front lot lines, or any streets ,
such stables to be subject to the following. standards :
(a) The stable must not be detrimental to or en-
danger public health or safety;
(b) The stable must not be injurious to the use
and enjoyment of property in its immediate
vicinity nor diminish or impair property
values in the neighborhood;
(c) Adequate utility service and drainage facil-
ities must be provided and approved by the
Village Engineer;
(d) The storage area for manure must meet the
same set-back requirements of stable build-
ing location;
(e) Manure removal must meet the requirements of
'the Department of Health of DuPage County and
must be so scheduled in frequency so as not
to be offensive or injurious to public health;
(f) A pest control program must be instituted to
meet the requirements of the Department of
Health of DuPage County. "
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage, approval and publication as by statute
in such cases made and provided.
