AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE G-5 ESTABLISHING A PLAN COMMISSION FOR THE VILLAGE OF OAKBROOK, ILLINOIS BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oakbrook, DuPage County, Illinois, as follows: Section 1. Sections l and 2 of Ordinance G-5, "An Ordinance Establishing A Plan Commission For The Village of Oakbrook, Illinois", passed and approved by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oakbrook on May 12, 1959, are hereby amended and as amend- ed shall read: "Section 1. That there is hereby established for the Village of Oakbrook a Plan Commission consisting of a Chairman and six (6) other members to be appointed by the President subject to confirmation by the Board of Trustees. One (1) member of the Plan Commission need not be a resident of the Village of Oakbrook. / "Section 2. That the powers of the Plan Commission are as follows: (1) To prepare and recommend to the President and Board of Trustees a comprehensive plan for the present and future development or redevelopment of the munici- pality. Such plan may be developed in whole or in separate geographical or functional parts, each of which, when adopted, shall be the official compre- hensive plan, or part thereof, of the municipality. This plan may include reasonable requirements with reference to streets, alleys, public grounds, and other improvements hereinafter specified. The plan, as recommended by the Plan Commission and as there- i after adopted by ordinance may be made applicable, by the terms thereof, to land situated within the corporate limits and contiguous territory not more than one and one-half (1-1/2) miles beyond the cor- porate limits and not included in any municipality. The Plan Commission may implement such plan by re- commending such ordinances (a) establishing reason- able standards of design for subdivisions and for resubdivisions of unimproved land and of areas sub- ject to redevelopment in respect to public improve- ments as herein defined; (b) establishing reason- able requirements governing the location, width, course, and surfacing of public streets and highways, alleys, ways for public service facilities , curbs, , gutters, sidewalks , street lights, parks, playgrounds, school grounds, size of lots to be used for residential purposes, storm water drainage, water supply and dis- tribution, sanitary sewers, and sewage collection and treatment; and (c) may designate land suitable for ; annexation to the Village of Oakbrook and the recom- mended zoning classification for such land .upon an- nexation. (2) To recommend changes, from time to time, in the official c9mprehensive plan. " _2_ Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect }from and after its passage and approval as by law provided. PASSED and APPROVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of.
