G-76 OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BP,OOK, DU PAGE COUNTY, ILLINOIS, PERTAINING TO THE POLICE -DEPAR °:,TENT OF SAID VILLAGE, RE-ESTABLISHING AND RE-ORGANIZING THE SAID POLICE DE- PARTMENT EY INCREASING THE NUMBER OF POLICE SERGEANTS BE IT OP.DAINED by the President -and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook, DuPage County, Illinois: SECTION 1 : That Section 5 of Ordinance G-76, being: "An Ordinance. Repealing Ordinance No. G-4 of the Village of Oak Brook, DuPage County, Illinois Pertaining to the Police Department of Said Village, Re-establishing the Offices Therein; Establishing the Method of Appointment, and Prescribing'- the Duties of Offices appointed Thereto", passed and approved by thY President and *Board . of Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook on the 26th day of September, 1967, as Amended, be and the same is hereby amended, and as _ amended shall in full read as follows: "Section 5 a . Police Sergeant . The office of Police Sergeant is hereby created.. Police Sergeants shall be limited to seven (7) in number . Police Sergeants shall be appointed by the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners . of the Village of Oak Brook pursuant to the statutes of the State of Illinois and the rules of said Board . The duties of Police Sergeant shall be to give his attention to the affairs of the Village; preserve the peace, order, safety, cleanliness, and to otherwise enforce the ordinances of the Village, and the orders of the Police -Chief, any other superior officer, Lieutenant, and the Village President : "Such Police Sergeant shall be under the direct super vision of designated superior officers and shall at all times be subject to the rules and regulations of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners. ". SECTION 2: All ordinances, rules, and the regulations of the Village of Oak Brook which are in conflict tyith the provisions of this Ordi- nance are hereby repealed to the extent of the . conflict . SECTION 3: If any section, sub-section,- sentence, clause, or phrase of this Ordinance is for any reason -held to be invalid, such deter- mination shall not affect the validity of any remaining portion of this Ordinance. SECTION 4: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from ' and after its passage and approval as by statute in such case riade and provided . �f PASSED and APPROVED by the.
