RECOMMENDED MOTION: Motion to approve Resolution R-1556,A Resolution In
Relation To The Semi-Annual Review Of Closed Meeting Minutes
Background/History:
The Open Meetings Act (S ILCS 12012.06) requires that all public bodies periodically, but no
less than semi-annually, review minutes of all of its closed session minutes that have not been
released to the public. The Board of Trustees must therefore review the closed session minutes,
or the parts thereof, from the meetings of 2006 through 2015. All of the meeting minutes have
been approved, but not released to the public. Under the Open Meetings Act, to "release" closed
session minutes merely means that the Board has determined that there is no longer a need to
maintain the minutes as confidential.
A. Minutes to be Released—None recommended at this time.
B. Minutes to Remain Confidential.
At this time the Village Clerk's office and the Village Attorney recommend not releasing any
of the minutes identified below. If released, the information contained within these minutes
may affect ongoing litigation matters, employees currently employed by the Village, or
interfere with collective negotiating matters between the Village and its employees. The "R"
designation indicates Minutes which have previously been released as redacted.

A RESOLUTION IN RELATION TO THE
SEMI-ANNUAL REVIEW OF CLOSED MEETING MINUTES
WHEREAS, the Village Board of the Village of Oak Brook has met from time to time in closed
meeting for purposes authorized by the Illinois Open Meetings Act; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the requirements of 5 ILCS 120/2.06(d), the Village Board has met in closed
meetings to review closed Meeting minutes; and
WHEREAS, on April 12, 2016, the Village Board conducted a semi-annual review of any non-
released or previously released as redacted closed meeting minutes occurring between 2006 and 2015; and
WHEREAS, the Village Board has further determined that there still exists a need for confidentiality
as to all of the closed meeting minutes from the meetings set forth below in Section 1.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows:
Section 1: That the remainder of the 2006 through the 2015 closed meeting minutes, having been
previously approved, and either not released or released with redactions, are not ready for full release at this
time, as described in Schedule A, attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit 1.
Section 2: That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval
as provided by law.
