i ORDINANCE NO . G- 302_
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER- 3 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK RELATIVE TO LICENSES FOR THE SALE OF
ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR
WHEREAS, Section 110 of Chapter 43 of the Illinois Revised Statutes
authorizes the President and Board of Trustees of the Village to establish
regulations and restrictions upon the issuance and operation under local
licenses not inconsistent with law as the public good and convenience
may require ; and
WHEREAS , Section 3-17 of the Code of Ordinances of the Village of
Oak Brook set forth certain classes for retail liquor licenses ; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees deem it advisable and
in the best interest and in furtherance of the general welfare of the
citizens of the Village that said Section 3-17 be amended through the
incorporation of specific standards for such retail liquor licenses
available to restaurant establishments ;
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES ,
ILLINOIS as follows :
Section 1 : That the provisions of the preamble hereinabove set
forth are hereby adopted as though fully set forth herein .
Section 2 : That Section 3-17 (1) of the Code of Ordinances of the
Village of Oak Brook be and is hereby amended to read as follows :
(1) Class A- 1 :
Retail sale of alcoholic liquor for consumption on
the premises where sold when the primary business
conducted on said premises is that of a restaurant
when the ratio of seating predominantly or ex-
clusively used for dining purposes to that seating
for bar or lounge areas equals or exceeds 3 . S to l ;
provided that no dancing by entertayiners or patrons
is permitted upon the licensed premises .
Section 3 : That said Section 3-17 of the Code of Ordinances be
and is hereby amended further by renumbering Subsections 4 , S , and 6
thereof as Sub-sections S , 6', and 7 respectively , and adding a new
Sub-section 4 which shall read as follows :
(4) Class A- 4 :
Retail sale of alcoholic liquor for consumption on
the premises where sold when the primary business
conducted on said premises is that of a restaurant
when the ratio of seating predominantly or ex-
clusively used for dining to that seating for
bar/lounge area is less than 3 . S to 1 but not less
than 1 . 4 to 1 , provided that no dancing by enter-
tainers or patrons is permitted upon the licnesed
premises .
Section 4 : That Section 3- 21 (a) of said Code of Ordinances of
the Village of Oak Brook be and is hereby amended by adding thereto
the following applicable fees for Class A-4 licenses :

Amending Chapter S of the Code
of Ordinances Relative to Licenses
Section S : That all ordinances or parts thereof in conflict
with the provisions of this Ordinance be and the same are hereby
repealed.
Section 6 : That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage , approval and publication in pamphlet form
as required by law.
Section 7 : That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to publish this Ordinance in pamphlet form in the manner
provided by law.
