ORDINANCE NO. G- 344
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE II OF CHAPTER 14 OF THE
CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK RELATIVE
TO VILLAGE RECREATIONAL FACILITIES
WHEREAS, the Village President and Board of Trustees have heretofore adopted
rules and regulations for the Sports Core , Oak Brook Golf Club, and Bath and
Tennis Club, codified as Article II of Chapter 14 of the Code of Ordinances of
the Village of Oak Brook; and
WHEREAS, the Village President and Board of Trustees deers the amendment of
said rules and regulations to be in the best interest and in furtherance of the
general welfare of the citizens of the Village of Oak Brook;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows:
Sec,�ion 1 : That the provisions of the preamble hereinabove set forth are
hereby adopted as though fully set forth herein.
Section 2: That Section 14-11(a) of the Code of Ordinances of the Village
of Oak Brook be and is hereby amended to read as follows:
(a) Scheduling: Requests to utilize the open field or show
field areas for recreational sporting events shall be made
at least thirty (30) days in advance and shall be reviewed
and scheduled by the Sports Core Manager. Any proposed
event involving concessions will not be scheduled until
approval of any licenses required from the Village.
Reservations for field use will be on a first-come
first-serve basis and confirmed only upon receipt of a
deposit requirement.
Use of the Sports Core for recreational sporting events
which involves spectator admission fees or concessions shall
be limited to nonprofit amateur organizations.
Any nonsport open field or show field use shall be
scheduled only after issuance of a permit by the Village.
Section 3: That Section 14-11(c) of the Code of Ordinances of the Village
of Oak Brook be and is hereby amended by adding thereto a new sub-section (5)
which shall, read as follows:
(5 ) A deposit with reservation applications in an amount
consistent with overall service requests as determined by the
Sports Core Manager shall be required;
Section 4: That Section 14-12 (a) (5) of the Code of Ordinances of the
Village of Oak Brook be and is hereby amended to read as follows:
(5) Corporate Resident Employee. A full-time employee whose
primary place of employment is within the corporate limits of
the Village of Oak Brook.
Section 5: That Section 14-12(b) (1 ) of the Code of Ordinances of the
Village of Oak Brook be and is hereby amended to read as follows:
(1 ) Oak Brook Businesses. Corporate resident employees
shall be entitled to purchase corporate resident season
memberships to the Oak Brook Golf Club. Anyone purchasing a
season membership under this policy shall be required to
present a current certification of employment from his or
her employer. Corporate resident employees not holding a
season membership shall pay the nonresident greens fee
rates.

Section 6: That Section 14-12(b) (2)c of the Code of Ordinances of the
Village of Oak Brook be and is hereby amended to read as follows:
c. All accounts will be payable upon receipt of statements.
Any balance not paid within thirty (30) days of the billing
day shall be charged an interest fee of one and five tenths
(1 .5) percent (eighteen (18) percent annual rate) . Charging
privileges on any accounts with unpaid balances over sixty
(60) days old will be cancelled. Memberships will not be
renewed until any balance from previous seasons has been
paid in full.

*NOTE: Any nonresident who in 1978 was a valid nonresident

a twenty (20) percent discount on the membership fee schedule
otherwise applicable for each such recruitment.
Section 12: That Section 14-13(d) (2) of the Code of Ordinances of the
Village of Oak Brook be and is hereby amended to read as follows:

(5) Seasonal locker rentals shall be on a first-come first-serve
basis. Not more than sixty (60) percent of the lockers shall be
rented. Keys may be obtained by registering with the locker room
attendant or at the clubhouse office. Registered guests will be
given a locker for that day's use upon request.
Section 14: That Section 14-13(e) of the Code of Ordinances of the Village
of Oak Brook be and is hereby amended to read as follows:
( 1 ) The Clubhouse will be open to members beginning the
Saturday, immediately before the federally observed Memorial
Day, and continuing through the Monday, observed as Labor Day.

(1) The pools may be utilized by family or individual season
members and their registered guests.
Section 16: That Section 14-13(f) (2) of the Code of Ordinances of the
Village of Oak Brook be and is hereby amended to read as follows:
(2) The pools will be open beginning on the Saturday
immediately before the federally observed Memorial Day and
closing the day after Oak Brook Day, as determined by the
Board of Trustees.

Section 18: That Section 14-13(g) of the Code of Ordinances of the Village
of Oak Brook be and is hereby amended to read as follows:
(g) Operation of Tennis Courts:
1. The tennis courts may be utilized by family or individual
season members and their registered guests.
2. The tennis courts will be supervised by club staff from
May 1 st to October 1 st (weather permitting) . The nets
will be up and the courts will open on a first-come
first-serve basis from April 1st to November 1st on the
asphalt courts and from about May 15th to October 1st on
the clay courts (weather permitting) . The courts will be
open seven (7) days a week from 7:00 A.M. until dusk.
3. All members and their guests are required to sign in at
the Pro Shop or the clubhouse to obtain a court
assignment. Membership fees must be paid in full before
using the facilities.
Section 19: That Section 14-13(h) of the Code of Ordinances of the Village
of Oak Brook be and is hereby amended to read as follows:
(h) Clubhouse Rental:
1. The clubhouse may be rented for private parties or events
subject to availability, and so as not to conflict with
scheduled membership events and commitments.

3. The term resident shall include Oak Brook residents and
Oak Brook businesses and all Bath & Tennis family or
individual members for the current season. All civic and
nonprofit organizations shall receive a twenty (20)
percent discount from resident rates.
4. Maximum seating with existing equipment is one hundred
fifty ( 150) . In the event any additional equipment is
required an additional charge will be made.
5. All food and beverage service shall be provided only by
the Bath & Tennis Club club staff.
6. Notwith3tanding the above fee schedule and minimums ,
regularly organized community groups, a majority of whose
members are Oak Brook residents, inay rent the dining room
for day or evening use on any Monday through Thursday
during the off-season for fifty dollars ($50.00) for a
four (4) hour limit. An additional twenty-five dollars
($25. 00) per hour fee shall be charged for events
exceeding four (4 ) hours. Reservations will not be
accepted until a qualifying community organization has
filed an annual affidavit with the Sports Core Manager
attesting that a majority of the organization's members
are Oak Brook residents.
7. Qualifying regularly organized community groups shall
limit their use of the facility to the dining room. Any
rearrangement of the floor plan will be at the group's
expense. No use of the kitchen will be permitted unless
prior arrangements have been made with the club management
to have present Bath & Tennis Club kitchen personnel
assist them. This will be done at the group' s expense and
will be included in the Special Events contract.
8. A non-refundable deposit of twenty five (25) percent of
the estimated cost of each event will be required to
secure a reservation. Deposits must be made in person at
the clubhouse and will be accepted on a first-come
first-serve basis. Deposits are not refundable.
9. Payments for services are due the date of the event unless
other arrangments have been made, in writing, as part of
the Special Events contract.
Section 20: That Sections 14-21 and 14-22 of the Code of Ordinances of the
Village of Oak Brook be and the same are hereby repealed.
Section 21 : That all ordinances or parts that are in conflict with the
provisions of this Ordinance be and the same are hereby repealed to the extent of
such conflict.
Section 22: That the provisions of this Ordinance are deemed severable and
the validity or invalidity of any portion thereof shall not affect the validity
of the remaining portions thereof.
Section 23: That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
publish this Ordinance in pamphlet form in the manner provided by law.
Section 24: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form, as required by law.
