AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CMU)TER 7 ENTITLED "LIBRARY"
OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK
WHEREAS, the Oak Brook Library Commission has recommended the revision of
certain library fees; and
WHEREAS, the Oak Brook Library Commission and the Library Administrator
have recommended that library operations be governed by a General Policy; and
WHEREAS, the Village President and Board of Trustees concur with these
recommendations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows:
Section 1•
Section 7-1. Created; Operation.
There is hereby created, pursuant to 75 Illinois Compiled Statutes 40/1
et seq. , the Oak Brook Free Public Library. The operations of the Oak
Brook Free Public Library shall be governed by the General Policy adopted
by the Village Board, as may be amended from time to time.

Section 2: That Section 7-2 of the Code of Ordinances of the Village of
Oak Brook entitled "Fees and Charges", be and is hereby amended to read as
follows:
"The fol-lowing fees and charges are hereby established governing the Oak
Brook Free Public Library:
Fee or Charge Fee Amount
Non-resident family, per year $101.00
Non-resident student, per year $ 27.00
Non-resident senior citizen, per year $ 27.00
Framed art prints $ 1.00
Overdue charge (per day, per item,
not to exceed,$10.00 per item) $ .10
Replacement of lost library card $ 2.00
Returned checks $ 20.00
The maximum charge for any item not returned shall not exceed the
replacement cost of such item plus any overdue fines (such fines not to
exceed ten dollars ($10.00) plus a five-dollar ($5.00) processing fee) ."

Section 3: That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
publish this Ordinance in pamphlet form in the manner provided by law.
Section 4: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after passage, approval and publication as provided by law.
Section 5: That all ordinances or parts thereof in conflict with the
provisions of this ordinance be and the same are hereby repealed to the extent
of such conflict.
