G-610 - 05/12/1998 - PERSONNEL RULES & REGS - Ordinances ORDINANCE 98-PL-G- 610 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE VI OF THE PERSONNEL RULES & REGULATIONS OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook have heretofore adopted Personnel Rules and Regulations; and WHEREAS, said Personnel Rules and Regulations have been amended from time to time; and WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate that said Personnel Rules and Regulations as previously amended be further amended; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows: Section 1: That Section 3(a) of Article VI of the Personnel Rules and Regulations of the Village of Oak Brook be and is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 3. Holidays. (a) Designated. The following and other days as may be designated annually by the Village Board are paid holidays with straight time for full-time employees. New Year's Day One-half day Good Friday Easter Sunday (effective January 1, 1997 for non-represented Police and Communications shift personnel only) Memorial Day Independence Day Labor Day Thanksgiving Day Day after Thanksgiving Christmas Eve (if December 25 falls on a Saturday, Sunday or Monday, see paragraphs (e), (f) and (g) below). Christmas Day One half day New Year's Eve (if January 1 falls on a Saturday, Sunday or Monday, see paragraphs (e), (f) and (g) below)." Ordinance 98-PL-G-610 Amending the Personnel Rules _. and Regulations, Page 2 Section 2: That Section 3(c) of Article VI of the Personnel Rules and Regulations of the Village of Oak Brook be and is hereby amended to read as follows: "(c) Non-represented shift personnel shall receive a time equivalent to other full-time Village employees for holidays scheduled by their department heads. Any such employee, with the consent of the department head and the village manager, may carry over unused holidays scheduled for use during November and December to the subsequent calendar year upon demonstration of extenuating circumstances." Section 3: That Section 4(i) of Article VI of the Personnel Rules and Regulations of the Village of Oak Brook be and is hereby amended to read as follows: "(I) Personal Leave. In addition to the provisions of[subsections] (a)through (h) above, all full- time employees shall be entitled to three (3) personal holidays each calendar year, except for non- represented Police and Communications Center shift personnel who shall be entitled to two (2) personal holidays each calendar year effective January 1, 1997. Such leave may only be taken at times approved by the employee's department head. Notwithstanding,the provisions of this paragraph shall not affect any policy of additional personal leave (in excess of three (3) days) heretofore approved by the president and board of trustees regarding full-time employees employed as of December 1, 1980." Section 4: Except as amended hereby, the Personnel Rules and Regulations of the Village of Oak Brook shall remain in full force and effect and are hereby ratified and confirmed. Section 5: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication as required by law. Section 6: That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to publish this ordinance in pamphlet form in the manner provided by law. PASSED THIS 12th day of May, 1998.
