G-919 - 03/09/2010 - TRAFFIC CODE - OrdinancesORDINANCE 2010- TC -RR -G -919 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTERS 1 (TRAFFIC CODE) AND 2 (TRAFFIC SCHEDULES) OF TITLE 7 (MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC) OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK WHEREAS, the Illinois Vehicle Code (625 ILCS 5 /Ch. 11, Art. XIII), adopted by reference to be applied within the corporate limits of the Village of Oak Brook, includes the regulation of Stopping, Standing and Parking; and WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village deem it advisable and in the best interest and in furtherance of the general welfare of the citizens of the Village to amend Chapter 1 (Traffic Code) of Title 7 (Motor Vehicles and Traffic) with the inclusion of regulations regarding athletic event parking; and WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village also deem it advisable and in the best interest and in furtherance of the general welfare of the citizens of the Village that Schedule VII (Parking Prohibited At All Times On Certain Streets) of Chapter 2 (Traffic Schedules) of Title 7 (Motor Vehicles and Traffic) of the Village Code be amended to prohibit parking the entire length of Grant Street. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, as follows: Section 1: That the provisions of the preamble hereinabove set forth are hereby adopted as though fully set forth herein. Section 2: That Chapter 1 (Traffic Code) of Title 7 (Motor Vehicles and Traffic) is hereby amended by the addition of the following: 7 -1 -1319: NO ATHLETIC EVENT PARKING: It shall be unlawful to park any vehicle along any street in the corporate limits of the Village of Oak Brook for the purpose of attending any athletic event where signs prohibiting same are so posted. Section 3: That Schedule VII (Parking Prohibited At All Times On Certain Streets) of Section 7 -2 -1 (Traffic Schedules) is hereby amended by the addition of the following: Grant Street Entire Length Section 4: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of the conflict. Section 5: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication as required by law. Section 6: The Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to publish this ordinance in pamphlet form in the manner provided by law.
