AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 4 (ELECTED VILLAGE
OFFICIALS), ARTICLE B (VILLAGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES) OF
TITLE 1 (ADMINISTRATION) OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF THE VILLAGE
OF OAK BROOK, ILLINOIS RELATIVE TO TYPES OF MEETINGS
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows:
Section 1: That Section 1 -413-3 (Meetings) is hereby amended by adding to subsection A the
following sentence:
The annual notice of meetings pursuant to Section 120/1 of the Illinois Municipal Code will
list the regular meetings of the Board and any Commissions and Committees of the
Village and will be published in January annually, and include the dates, times and
locations of those regular meetings.
Section 2- That Section 1 -413-3 (Meetings) is hereby amended by deleting subsection B. in its
entirety and replacing the same as follows:
Special Meetings. Special meetings may be called by a written notice from the President
or from any three (3) Trustees (e -mail or fax request to the Village Manager is acceptable
but telephone notice is not proper notice). Public notice, including the agenda of the
special meeting, shall be given at least forty -eight (48) hours before such Special meeting
by posting the notice at Village Hall and furnishing the agenda to registered news media.
Special meetings of the Board may be held at any time with consent of all members
thereof. Special meetings of the Board may be held only at Village Hall, unless an
alternate location is specified and posted consistent with the Open Meetings Act. No
discussion or action may be taken on non - agenda items at a special meeting.
Section 3: Section 1 -413-3 (Meetings) is hereby amended by adding a new subsection E thereto
as follows:
Rescheduled Meetings. In order to reschedule a regular meeting, the following procedure
must be followed. The topic must be on the agenda. A motion must be made and
passed by the Board, Commission or Committee to reschedule a regular meeting by
changing the date or time thereof. Public notice including the agenda of the rescheduled
meeting shall be given at least forty -eight (48) hours before such meeting by posting that
notice at the Village Hall and furnishing the agenda to the registered news media.
Discussion is permitted, but no action may be taken on non - agenda items at a
rescheduled regular meeting.
Section 4: Section 1 -413-3 (Meetings) is hereby amended by adding a new subsection F thereto
as follows:
Reconvened Meetings. In order to reconvene a regular meeting, the following procedure must be
followed. A motion must be made and passed by the Board, Commission or Committee in its meeting
to reconvene that meeting to a later date or time. No notice of a reconvened meeting need be given if
the original meeting was open to the public and it is to be reconvened within twenty -four (24) hours or

if an announcement of the time and place of the reconvened meeting was made at the original
meeting and there is no change in the agenda.
Section 5: Section 1 -413-3 (Meetings) is hereby amended by adding a new subsection G thereto
as follows:
Continued Meetings. A motion must be made and passed by the Board, Commission or
Committee at its meeting to continue that meeting to a later date or time.
Section 6: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed
to the extent of the conflict.
Section 7: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and
publication as required by law.
