AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A SPECIAL USE PERMIT
IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE RULES AND REGULATIONS
OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, IL
(1200 Oak Brook Road, Oak Brook, IL 60523)

WHEREAS, the owner of the property commonly known as 1200 Oak Brook Road has petitioned
the corporate authorities of the Village of Oak Brook for an amendment to an existing special use which
would allow expansion of an existing municipal complex, including a new municipal fire station served by
an approximately 65 -foot driveway. The width of this proposed driveway exceeds the maximum permitted
by Section XI(E)(4)(a)(2)(iii) of the Zoning Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, at its meeting of July 17, 2000, the Plan Commission unanimously recommended to
the Village Board that the requested amendment to the existing special use be granted; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing on such application has been conducted by the Zoning Board of
Appeals of the Village on August 1, 2000 pursuant to due and appropriate legal notice, and said Board has
submitted its report on the subject application to the President and Board of Trustees and has
recommended approval of the amendment; and
WHEREAS, the corporate authorities of the Village of Oak Brook deem the passage of t)I is
ordinance to be in the best interest and in furtherance of the general welfare of the Village of Oak Brook;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows:
Section 1- That the provisions of the preamble hereinabove set forth are hereby adopted as
though fully set forth herein. j
Section 2: That a special use permit be, and hereby is, granted to use the subject property for
government facilities, including municipal offices and civic centers, public libraries, police and fire' stations,
public works facilities and similar uses.
Section 3* That the special use permit herein granted in Section 2 of this Ordinance is expressly
subject to the condition that the expansion of the municipal complex presently on the subject property
shall be in substantial conformity with the plans and specifications consisting of seven sheets drawn by
Earth Tech, as last revised on June 13, 2000, which plans include a new municipal fire station served by
an approximately 65 -foot driveway
Section 4 That the real estate effected hereby is legally described as, to -wit*
Oak Brook Village Commons being a resubdivision of Lot 1 in Oak Brook Village Green
Subdivision, being a subdivision of parts of the Southwest Quarter of Section 26 and Lots
1 and 5 in Oak Brook Investment Company Assessment Plat No. 3, and Lot 1 in Butler
Company Spring Road Subdivision, Unit One, being a subdivision of part of Lot 6 in Oak
Brook Investment Company Assessment Plat No 3, and part of Lot 6 in Oak Brook
Investment Company, Plat No. 3, and part of Lot 7 in Plat of Lands of F O. and J F
Butler, all being subdivisions in part of Section 26, Township 39 North, Range 11, East of
the Third Principal Meridian in DuPage County, IL. Permanent Index No. 06 -26- 400 -012
commonly known as the northeast corner of Jorie Boulevard and Oak Brook Road, Oak Brook, IL.
