ORDINANCE 2002- CD -BC -G- 705
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 10 -4 -1 OF CHAPTER 10
OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK
RELATING TO BUILDING REGULATIONS AND FEE SCHEDULE
WHEREAS, on December 11, 2001, the Village Board adopted Ordinance 2001 -CD-BC-EX1 -G-688 which
approved a comprehensive amendment to Chapter 10, Building Regulations of the Village Code of the Village of
Oak Brook, including in the adoption of a series of updated building codes and fees; and
WHEREAS, the Village Board has directed that the fee schedule be reviewed and updated periodically to
ensure that all costs incurred by the Village to process new construction activities; (e.g., permits, plan review and
inspections) are covered by the appropriate fee; and
WHEREAS, the Village staff has recommended that the fees increase by approximately 5% to cover
increased costs; and
WHEREAS, the Village Board concurs with staff's recommendation; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows:
Section 1: That the provisions of the preamble hereinabove set forth are hereby adopted as though fully
set forth herein.
Section 2: That Section 10 -4 -1 entitled, "Fee and Bond Schedule" of Chapter 4 ( "Fees and Bonds ") of
Title 10 ( "Building Regulations ") of the Village Code of the Village of Oak Brook is amended to read as set forth
below:

10 -4 -1: FEE AND BOND SCHEDULE: Before a permit required by this Title is issued, the Director of
Community Development shall collect a fee and bond calculated according to the following
schedule:
B. Volume Computation: Volume shall be computed on the exterior dimensions of the building and shall
include all space above the lowest level of the foundation wall and to the highest point of the main roof and
to include all projections.
C. Unit of Volume Cost: Figure a fraction larger than one -half (1/2) as a full unit.

C. Certain Entities Permitted to Request Waiver. Any governmental unit or any charitable organization, as

waiver of any fees imposed pursuant to the terms of this Section. Upon such requests, the Village
President and the Board of Trustees may, by motion, waive any such fees imposed pursuant to this
